Usually, take the loan from the traders and repay at harvest time mainly by
cardamom only. At present, because of declining productivity from the farms
the villages there are facing with low income and insufficient food supplies
consequently.
By using Rights Based Approaches in Community Development, community
can be able to do development without depending on other (E.g Donors,
external supports etc ) and they are able to do development systematically and
legally. When the beneficiary communities become aware of the issues and
further needs, and as much as they know about their rights, they become to
understand their responsibilities so that it effectively advantages in doing
community development, not only with external assistance but also along with
participation and management as well as their own contributions will shape the
further activities deemed to address the problems among them would be much
efficient and relevant.
8. Expected Results (max 5 pages)
Indicate how the action will improve the situation of target groups/beneficiaries
as well as the technical and management capacities of target groups and/or any
local partners where applicable. Be specific and quantify results as much as
possible. Describe the possibilities for replication and extension of the action
outcomes (multiplier effects).
There are two kinds project expected results, the short term and the long term,
according to the inputs of the project activities. For the short terms expected
results, the project started with conducting community need assessment base on
it, it is resulted a concrete community profiles are collected. Because of this
short-term result, it may have to the project primary beneficiaries, the
secondary beneficiaries and the achievement indicators of the project. Another
short term results may the training design of the right base approach, that may
relevant with the context of the community such as Awareness of Development
concept, Basic Human Rights, Rights Based Approach, Community
mobilization concepts and good practices, the Self Help Group concept and
practice and developing community action plan.
And then by conducting Community Development in Rights Based
Approach, 25- 30 participants will gain knowledge and practices on
Development concept, Basic Human Rights, Rights Based Approach,

Community mobilization and its good practices, the Self Help Group practices
and developing community action plan.
After the training activity, the project may follow up to the participants on
formation of Self Help Group is in the community for the purpose of assisting
the social and basic human needs in the community.
The final long term result may the community action plan for the long term
sustainability and development of the community.

The project may also strengthen the participants to empower its communities,
to deal well and with good communication skills and management to external
actors and interventions in their areas are too the indicators of the project.
10.Beneficiaries Selection (max 5 pages)
How has/will beneficiary selection criteria be defined and beneficiaries
selected?
The project will select beneficiaries for the training participants and the self
help group activity according to the following criteria, regardless of their
particular race or religion:
1. Criteria for training participants
Those who:
1. Love community development
2. Have time to dedicate their time
3. Have ability to deal and cooperate with others
4. Are highly regarded/respected by community
5. Permanently live in their villages
6. Have good health
7. Have appropriate education (at least middle school education)
8. Ages are between 20 and 45
2. Criteria for Self Help Group members
1. Households who do not receive no or little assistance from other
organizations
2. Households who are permanent residents in the target villages and
actively participate in community life
3. Vulnerable households will be targeted first i.e. female-headed
households, elderly, people with disability, PLHA and daily workers
4. Households who has children more than 5 and have less labour

Duration and indicative chose action plan for implementing the action
Students are recommended to base the estimated duration for each activity and
total period on the most probable duration and not on the shortest possible
duration by taking into consideration all relevant factors that may affect the
implementation timetable.
The activities stated in the action plan should correspond to the activities
described in detail in result indicators section.
Applicants should not indicate a specific startup date for the implementation of
the action but simply show "month 1", "month 2", etc.

community leaders are glad to bear the roles and responsibilities together with
the community for betterment of their communities and churches.
With the commitment to help each other, willing to share their time and to
make initiatives, starting from the pastor to the members and assist in
communitys social welfare and implementing the community development
may push the community to sustainable self reliance community.
As a consequence, the acquired knowledge and technical skills would provide
them to initiate better means of livelihoods with new perspectives and concerns
for creating substantial and long-termed development in communities.
13.Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (max 3 pages)
Explain how the project will be monitored and how and when evaluations will
be carried out. Be specific about how and what you will measure. This may be
done in many ways using a variety of qualitative and quantitative means. What
role will the Organization/ Church/Community have in monitoring the project?
Describe how results from monitoring and evaluation will be shared with the
Organization/Church/Community and contribute to organizational learning.
