dear Friends,
2014 was another wonderful season for all of us at murray mcmurray Hatchery. thank you to every one of you who
helped us spread the excitement and rewards of chicken ownership! We hope you enjoy the many new products added
to this years catalog as we strive to offer you a comprehensive source for all of your chicken needs. While newly
hatched chicks continues to be the bulk of our business, we have been happy to offer 4-week and 16 week old chickens
to our line-up. these two additional options are a wonderful fit for those who want a jump start on raising chickens!
over the past two or three years, we have taken our famous murray mcmurray Hatchery chickens across the country to
various trade shows. It has been a wonderful opportunity for us to meet our long time customers face to face. We are
continually humbled by the role our chickens are playing in the lives of so many people. our customers often tell us
wonderful stories of ordering chicks with their grandparents and now experiencing that same tradition with their
grandchildren. our hearts are overcome with joy as we hear of our chickens helping children with learning disabilities
or re-energizing senior citizens with fond memories of their youth. many farms and small businesses have started with
the sale of fresh eggs from our happy chickens. We love helping new chicken owners as they take a serious look at
their reliabilities and embrace chicken ownership as a means to feed their families with healthy, fresh backyard eggs.
We cant wait to meet you and hear your story at our next event!
We continue to invest countless time and energy into the www.mcmurrayhatchery.com website to make your buying
experience the best it can be. this past year or so we have introduced real-time chat capabilities, a text messaging
service for your questions, an on-line chicken selector tool, added Pinterest to our social media involvement, offered
Paypal as a payment option and have most recently created an on-line Wish list that you can create from your account.
All of this, of course, is in addition to our (800) 456-3280 number you can call and talk to one of our knowledgeable
customer service representatives. If anything in the following pages of this catalog is unclear, please do not hesitate to
call us - we cant wait to hear from you!
Here is to a fruitful 2015 - may it be the best year yet for you!
All our best,

What do I do now?
The Care of Baby Chicks, Turkeys, Ducks, Geese, Guineas, Pheasants, and Partridge
Friends We have added the information below to help you get your baby poultry started correctly and to eliminate any potential problems that might arise. Please
read this information carefully and be prepared when your baby poultry arrive.
Feed: Use a commercial chick starter for the first 8 weeks. On the first day cover
the litter with newspaper and spread some feed on the papers and have your
feeders full also. This will allow the new birds to find the feed. Use a 2 foot feeder
for each 25 chicks. After the first day remove the papers from the starting area.
Please refer to the next page for feed protein levels for the type of poultry you
areordering.
If the birds had a hard trip: Instead of using the standard feed and water
suggestions listed, try this: Put 6 more tablespoons of sugar in each gallon of
water. Then mix some of this extra sweet water with some of your feed to make a
soupy mix. Give your birds this special feed and water mix for 3 to 4 days to get
them over the effects of shipping.
Water: Have a 1 gallon chick waterer for each 50 birds. DIP THE BEAK OF THE
CHICK IN THE WATER BEFORE YOU TURN IT LOOSE. For the first 2 days add 3
tablespoons of table sugar to each quart of water for extra energy. For best results,
have either Quik Chik or Broiler Booster in the water. Your birds will be thirsty
when you get them. A taste of water right away helps them to find more water
soon. Most baby bird loss is caused because the bird doesnt start to eat or drink.
Never let your birds run out of water.
Heat: The temperature where the birds are should be 90 to 95 degrees for the first
week. Reduce the temperature 5 degrees per week until you get to 70 degrees.
Then they shouldnt need any more heat.
A good source of heat is a 250 watt heat bulb. (Red bulbs are preferred, white may
cause picking.) Hang it 18 inches from the floor. The temperature directly under the
bulb will be higher than 90 degrees but the birds will adjust themselves to the area
they like. Use 1 bulb for each 50 chicks in cold weather. Use 1 bulb for each 100
chicks in warm weather.
Light: If you use a heat bulb, this will also serve as the light you need. Otherwise,
be sure to give your birds light. Use a 75 watt bulb on dark days. Have a small light
for night 15 watts or similar to keep them from piling.
Space: Try to provide 1/2 square foot per bird at the start. For starting 50 chicks
use a draft shield (see below) and make a circle about 5 to 6 feet across. For 100
birds, make the circle 7 to 8 feet across.
Starter Kit (pictured right.) This is a very simple and
complete method for starting your poultry. Please make
sure your birds have all of the necessities to assure them
of a good start and healthy life.
Rear end pasting up: Sometimes the stress of shipping causes the manure to
stick to the back of the bird. It is important to remove this daily. Pull off gently, or
better yet, wash off with a cloth and warm water. It will disappear in a few days as
the bird starts to grow.
Cornish X Rocks and Barbecue: Try starting these groups on broiler starter. (The
higher protein seems to help them avoid leg problems.) We would also recommend
at about 12 days of age you will need to start limit feeding. Fill the feeders each
day and let the feed run out in the late afternoon. Research has shown these birds
will grow just a fraction slower but have considerably less problems by not feeding
them continuously. Also add extra amount of vitamins from the start. We
recommend either Quik Chik or Broiler Booster in the water from start to finish.
Although management, environment, and feed quality will affect the growth rates;
Cornish Game Hens should be ready to butcher by 4 weeks of age. Cornish X Rock
Cockerels should have a dressed weight of 3 to 4 pounds in 6 to 8 weeks of age.
Pullets and Cornish Roasters will take 1 to 2 weeks longer. Under good conditions
birds will gain to 1 pound per week after 6 to 7 weeks. If you let these birds
continue to grow they can experience leg and heart problem.
Getting started
Why Order Our Poultry?
Did you know that chicks, just before they hatch, draw into their abdomen the yolk of the egg? Rich in food value and liquid, the yolk provides the newly-hatched chick
with all it needs to eat and drink for over 3 days. That is why we can hatch chicks here, ship them to you, and know that they will be well provided for by Mother
Nature along the way!
Extra Chicks for Warmth: We do a number of things to assure that your birds
arrive healthy and happy. We use a specially designed chick shipping box, adjust
ventilation holes, and time our shipping to have access to the most airline flights
to name a few. Adding extra males (free of charge) for warmth is also another
option for us. If you do not want us to add extra chicks, please order in multiples
of the minimums listed above, and let us know you do not want extra chicks when
you are ordering.
Choice of Females, Males, or Straight Run: No other hatchery in the world
allows you to choose so many different varieties of chickens by sex. Order
FEMALES (pullets), MALES (cockerels), or STRAIGHT RUN (as hatched, we cannot
guarantee an equal number of males and females). We have professional sexers
that come to the hatchery on hatch day, sex the birds, and we guarantee their
work. It is indicated in the catalog how each breed is sold.
Substitutions: Occasionally we will have breeds which did not hatch as well as
expected. When this happens, we would like to substitute extra chicks of equal or
greater value of breeds similar to what you had ordered. If you indicate no
substitutions, we will either delay your order or ship it short those birds and
refund you. We have discovered that our customers usually prefer to have the
original total number of chicks they ordered rather than a refund. If you phone in
your order we will ask you about substitutions. If you mail your order, please
indicate your substitution preference on the order blank.

McMurray Hatchery is concerned about all poultry diseases not only Avian Influenza Here at the hatchery we have very stringent Biosecurity procedures, vaccination
program, and testing to insure you receive healthy chicks You can help by reading and following Biosecurity guidelines recommended by the United State Department
of Agriculture below
Tips to Prevent
Poultry Disease
Taking some of your birds to a fair or exhibition? Keep those birds separated from
the rest of your flock and watch them for at least 2 weeks after the event to
ensure that they didnt pick up a disease
New birds should be kept separate from your flock for at least 30 days before
putting them with the rest of your birds To prevent disease, it is best not to mix
young and old birds or birds from different species or different sources
Allow only people who take care of your birds to come into contact with them
Your caretakers should not attend bird shows or other events where birds are
present If visitors to your property want to see your birds, be sure they wash up
first and clean their shoes Better yet, keep clean boots for visitors to wear If your
visitors have birds of their own, do not let them near your birds at all
Game birds and migratory waterfowl should not have contact with your flock
because they can carry germs and diseases If your birds are outdoors, try to keep
them in a screened area
2. keep it Clean.
You wouldnt think of tracking dirt and disease into your house, where it could
infect your family Dont do that to your birds either! Germs can be picked up on
shoes and clothing and moved from one area to another To keep your birds
germ-free, keep a pair of shoes and a set of clothes to wear only around your
birds Many people keep these clean clothes in a covered pail at the entrance to
their bird area Or, clean and disinfect your shoes and launder your clothes before
you check on or work with your birds
Scrubbing your shoes with a long-handled scrub brush and disinfectant will
remove droppings, mud, or debris Clothes should be washed in a washing
machine with laundry detergent
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap, water, and a disinfectant before entering
your bird area
Keep cages, food, and water clean on a daily basis Clean and disinfect equipment
that comes in contact with your birds or their droppings That includes tools such
as feed scoops, shovels, rakes, and brooms All manure must be removed before
disinfectant can work, so clean surfaces with soap and water first Properly
dispose of dead birds by burial or incineration or take them to a landfill Check on
local ordinances for acceptable disposal methods

Have you heard
about Chicks4Children?
When we were contacted by the folks from Global Family Philanthropy about
their Not for Profit initiative, Chicks 4 Children, we were ecstatic to help them.
As we learned about their goal to work with communities to end hunger and
poverty by enabling chicken coop recipients to become self-sufficient, we could
easily see how we, as a company, along with our customers, would have a
natural inclination to help through our mutual interests.
We have heard so many stories over the years of what our chicks can do for
families and individuals. Whether therapy or entertainment, financial rewards or
simple pleasures, we understand chickens offer so much more than most think
about. With Chicks 4 Children, and your help, we can join together to help
educate societies on the skills needed to ensure they have a sustainable food
source through the raising of chickens. One of the best aspects of this program
is that the recipients of your generosity are not the only ones who benefit as
the recipients pay forward their knowledge and resources to others in
their community.
Murray McMurray Hatchery is proud to help promote the Chicks 4 Children
program and looks forward to the day when no one goes hungry - anywhere.
We can and will accomplish this with your help. Chicks 4 Children is a Not-forProfit initiative.
Bantams
Soldiers returning from China brought the first Cochin bantams to England in the 1860s. Cochins are heavily feathered
down the shanks and toes and appear to be much larger than they actually are. They are very gentle, excellent setters,
require little space, and with their many color varieties are absolutely beautiful to look at. Cochins are the most popular of
the feather legged bantams and one of our best sellers.
Mottled Cochin
A lustrous,
greenish-black
base color with
many of the
feathers tipped in white. A color
contrast that really makes it stand
out in a flock.
Each feather is
rich, golden-bay
laced with
lustrous
greenish-black, creating a broad
oval with a golden-bay center.
Extremely eye catching.

BANTAMS
Frizzle Cochins
Now this is truly a unique bird! Unlike all other chickens, the feathers on the frizzle curve outward and forward giving it the appearance of having walked through a
windstorm backwards. These come in red, black, and white colors and show the other characteristics of the cochin. PLEASE NOTE: The frizzle feathering of these unique
birds does not show as baby chicks. Because the frizzle trait does not breed true, approximately one fourth of your baby frizzle chicks will develop normal feathering
and the others will be frizzled. Limited Supply.

These beautiful birds came to Europe from Japan in the 17th century and are contained in the paintings of many early Dutch
artists. We have both the bearded and non-bearded varieties. Each feather on these bantams is tipped in white, and the
presence of vulture hocks, heavy leg feathering, and a wide-set tail make them unique and unsurpassed.
Mille Fleur
Porcelain
This variety,
in many folks
opinion, is the
most fascinating of
all bantams. They have many unusual
characteristics and their reddish-bay
feathers that are tipped in white really
make them stand out. Their color will
get better with age and they are very
nice birds.

The buff is the newest variety to be recognized in the U.S. and because of
this, is more difficult to find. The beautiful golden buff bodies with black
tails and laced hackles make them an extremely attractive bird. We feel
our strain is particularly nice.

Both China and Japan claim the origin of these unique bantams and historians have traced them back to Marco Polo. Their
black skin and feathers, that feel much like hair, make them one of our most unusual varieties of chickens. Our Silkies come
both bearded and non-bearded and are tremendous setters of all types of eggs.

Bantams
JaPanese Bantams
The history of these can be traced back to Japanese paintings over 300 years old. These bantams carry their tails
upward and higher than the head. The wings angle down and back along the sides. Good layers, nice for show, and
very popular. Because of a genetic characteristic in Japanese bantams there is no such thing as a pure short-legged
Japanese. You may experience some chicks with medium to long legs.

These are large, stately birds of quiet disposition. Easy to dress for the table, they are
white skinned, plump, and juicy, a beautiful eating bird. Their heavy, full plumage make
them excellent winter layers, shelling out brown eggs right through cold weather. They
also make excellent setters and mothers. These Golden Beauties have been one of our
most popular varieties for years and years with their glistening plumage. Baby chicks are a soft light buff color.

Half chicken and half turkey? No, the Turken is all chicken but unique
because of its turkey-like bare neck, less than normal feathering around the
breast, under the wings, and around the vent. In spite of the feather
shortage, Turkens stand cold weather very well, are good layers of brown
eggs, and grow to 6 pounds or more, making a fine eating bird.
Our production strain is bred for a variety of colors and egg production. It may not meet the show standards.

Q. Will all the breeds in my chick order get along with each other?
A. When starting a flock together, of the same age, they will grow up and get along with
each other fine, despite their breed differences.

This very heavy white variety of the Jersey Giant breed was developed from white
sports of the Black Giants, and is a comparative newcomer to the ranks of purebred
standard chickens. Slower to mature than Rocks, Reds, and other more common
heavy breeds, it will eventually surpass them in size and weight. Mature hens are very
large and good layers of brown eggs. Baby chicks are a real smoky gray, varying from
almost black to quite light in color.

This breed was founded in the state of Delaware from an original Barred Rock and New
Hampshire cross. The Delaware is considered a heavy breed which lays a nice brown egg.
The feathering on these beautiful birds is almost all white but shows a slight indication of
barring in the hackle and tail. Delaware are a nice quiet bird when well tended to.

This unusual breed gets its name from the Indian tribe of Chile where they
were first discovered. Our chicks have some Araucana and some American
blood mixed and consequently are not for show but are beautiful chickens
known for their ability to lay colored eggs of shades varying from turquoise to deep olive to shades of
brown. These natural Easter Eggs will amaze your friends and make a great show and tell project for school. 15 or 20 of
these birds make an absolutely beautiful laying flock that is extremely hardy and will be the talk of the town. Our chicks are
recommended for egg laying color and ability, not for exhibition.

THE COLOR BLUE: A unique genetic feature of this breed is the constant recurrence in the offspring of not only all blue chicks, but also the black, white, and
black-white colors used in the original matings many generations ago to produce these blue birds. All of these chicks carry the blue genes and when mated black
on white or with other blues in turn produce many blue offspring. In our breeding flocks, however, only blue males of the finest color are used. Approximately
50% of the baby chicks will be all blue. The other 50% will be black, white, and black/white combinations.

These have exactly the same plumage color as the S.C. variety, but instead of
the straight blade single combs they have rose combs, which are low, solid,
thick, and covered with small rounded points. They are real hustlers, range

Some people prefer a smaller, lighter bird for fryers and these will fill that
bill. They are white feathered, yellow skinned, light breed male chicks from
our White Leghorns. They are delicious fryers but will take 16 - 20 weeks
to reach butchering size. They will not be as large as Cornish X Rock or
Cornish Roasters. Many of our customers buy the Frying Pan Special for
butchering and raise them with the pullets they order.
Grows faster and is heavier than the Red Ranger. Breast meat configuration is
similar to the Red Ranger, proportional to the dark meat, on a long keel. Live to
dressed weight yield averages 70% approximately 5 lbs.
It has yellow skin, shanks and beak. Feather color is black, yellow, red, gold,
copper, orange and white. This bird is suited for any environment.

Broiler Booster
HAVE YOU HAD LEG PROBLEMS WITH YOUR BROILERS OR ROASTERS? Cornish X Rocks, some heavy breeds of chickens, and
turkeys have astounding growth rates. This rapid growth can sometimes cause health problems. Broiler Booster contains biotin,
Vitamins A, D, E, B-12, and electrolytes, all of which work together to counteract weak legs. It is added to the water and will result
in healthier, stronger birds. If youre ordering broiler-type birds, seriously consider giving them this fine product. You should notice a
difference! For a flock of 50 chicks a 4 oz. package should last 7 weeks. For larger quantities see The Medicine Chest section of the
catalog. Shipped with baby poultry.

Cornish Roaster
(Shipped Jan 26 - July 6)
1989 was the first year that we were able to acquire the breeding stock for this
outstanding bird. It is ideal as a fryer (when butchered young), roaster or capon.
The Cornish Roaster takes about 2 weeks longer to mature than the Jumbo
Cornish X Rock but still has all of the same qualities: large breast and thighs,
yellow skin, and is easy to dress. Because it grows slower, many of the potential
leg problems are often eliminated. We sell them in straight run only and
recommend that you butcher the females as fryers and save the males as
roasters. Fryers can reach a dressed weight of 3-4 lbs. in 8 to 9 weeks and the
Roasters will reach a dressed weight of 8-9 lbs. at 12 weeks, making them a
mouth watering sight on Moms kitchen table.

Please Note:
Cornish Roaster, Cornish Game Hens, and Jumbo Cornish X Rocks are
hybrids. Therefore we do not recommend breeding, they will not produce
the same high quality in the next generation and due to the extreme rate
of growth they will be too large at time of sexual maturity to breed
successfully. Please review pages 4 - 6 of this catalog for special feeding
instructions for these birds.

Polish are one of the most beautiful of all poultry breeds with their large, distinctive crests. They
are of very ancient origin; for in many pictures by the old masters, and especially those by Dutch
and Flemish painters, the fowl shown in rural scenes are unquestionably Polish. They are quiet
and gentle birds, owing perhaps to their restricted vision because of the crests. They are a rather
small breed with compact bodies. They are fine layers of white eggs and non-setters.

Golden Polish
Here is another fine example of the crested fowl and among the most ornamental
of all. These were brought to their wonderful point of development by European
and English breeders as long ago as the mid 1800s. Very showy and also useful
layers of white eggs. Baby chicks are dark brown.

These were raised extensively on the many small farms near the village of
Houdan in France. This locale and the lovely black plumage in which many
feathers are tipped with V-shaped white spots give them their name. The
flowing crest, V-shaped comb, muff of feathers at the throat, and the 5th
toe give them an unusual appearance and make them a standout in any
poultry show. Houdans are fine-boned, juicy, white-skinned, and are good
layers of white eggs. In the crested breed family, they are larger than Polish. Baby chicks are patched with
black and white all over, and the little crest, beard, and 5th toe help identify them at once.

hardy and is known for its good production of a dark brown egg. The plumage of the males is very different from the

This very old and rare breed originated in Belgium. Golden Campines feature a

Beautiful to behold, these stately lords of
the barnyard must be seen to be
appreciated. The metallic sheen of the
feathers changes from copper to bronze
to burnished gold as the light moves
across them. Four feet in length, six feet
from wing tip to wing tip, a full grown
tom will weigh in at about 38 pounds.
Hens easily go 22 pounds. No wonder
the Pilgrims gave thanks for the wild ancestors of these
present-day beauties.

If you have never raised ducklings before, we invite you to try some this year from Murray McMurray Hatchery. Ducks are easy to raise, naturally
free from disease, and once started, require little commercial feed. Although most ducks are raised for their meat, they do lay well and can
provide you lots of eggs for baking. You may want to hold over some for breeding stock and start your own farm flock the following year. Ducks
are an attractive addition to any barnyard. SMALL ORDERS: We are able to send you as few as 2 ducks or geese. They will be specially boxed
with a heat pack to assure they arrive in great shape. For orders of less than10 ducks or geese, there will be a small order charge of $45 to cover
the shipping, special handling, heat pack and boxing fees. You may order all one breed or combine different breeds to complete your order.
Ducks are available from March through November. Availability will vary by breed. SEXING OF DUCKS: If you order sexed ducks; the males will have purple, black or
dark pink leg tape and females will have brown, white or light pink leg tape. (1 drake to 6 hens is suggested for breeding purposes.)
Leg tape must be removed within a few days of receiving your birds.

money at the same time. If you dont care what kind you have, let us make
up a special order for you. These are all top quality stock and carry the
same guarantee as our other birds but you can buy them at a lower price.
Sorry, we cant tell you what kind we are going to use to fill your order but
we know youll love them.
The White
Layer was
developed
several years
after the Gold
Star Hybrid as some of our
customers wanted a white egg
laying bird.
The White Layer has equal egg production to the Gold Star Hybrid. The only minor
difference between it and the Gold Star Hybrid is that the White Layer lays fewer
bluish colored eggs. All the offspring of the White Layer are white.

Khaki Campbell
Khakis are known for being
one of the best general
purpose ducks. They are
probably the best layers of all
of the domestic ducks. They
will have a mature weight of
around 4-1/2 Ibs. and their
light plumage makes them
easy to pick and nice for table
use. The females are sealbrown and the males are the same with touches of darker
brown and a resemblance to the drake mallard. Khaki
Campbells are excellent foragers and withstand cool
climates very well.
Catalog #
Welsh Harlequin
The Welsh Harlequin are a
fairly new breed, developed by
Leslie Bonnett in Wales from
two lighter colored Khaki
Campbell ducklings in 1949.
They came to the United States
in 1968 and were accepted
into the American Poultry
Association in 2001 in the
Light Duck class. They have excellent egg production abilities due to their Khaki
Campbell background yet retain the instinct to sit and hatch a nest full of
ducklings. They are calm, inquisitive and excellent foragers. Interestingly, they can
be sexed after hatching with 90% accuracy by their bill color. Darker bills
normally indicate a male and lighter bills ending in a dark spot a female.

Swedish
These attractive ducks are known for their black and blue colors and have a white bib that runs from under the bill halfway down the breast. They also have some
white on their wings that create a very eye appealing color contrast. Swedish are very hardy ducks and good foragers. Drakes will weigh up to 8 pounds. The hens will
weigh up to 7 pounds and will lay mostly white eggs with an occasional blue or gray tinted egg. Refer to the description of Blue Andalusians to fully
appreciate the genetics of the color BLUE in poultry.

These ducks were developed in Scotland around 1900 from stock that came from the East Indies. These uniquely appearing ducks
have long, slender bodies and a vertical posture thus leading to their nicknames of Penguin Ducks or Bottle Necks. Runners do
not waddle like other ducks but move with a quick step. They are smaller ducks that are good foragers, lay white eggs, and are a
very interesting addition to any farmstead. (Weight range 3.25 - 4 lbs.)

Geese have a long and distinguished history. Domesticated in Ancient Rome, China, and Bible Lands, geese are even pictured on the Pyramids. In Central Europe a
newly married couple could expect young geese as a highly prized wedding present. Geese can be expected to breed past 30 years of age and a 40 year old is not
uncommon. 101 years of age is the record. Geese are raised primarily for meat today but we have many customers who also use the eggs for baking and the shells for
decorative arts. Goose down goes into everything from an old-fashioned feather bed to a modern lightweight jacket. Geese are easy and inexpensive to raise, quick to
grow, and a delight to behold. Your goslings ordered from Murray McMurray Hatchery, as they mature, will return their cost many times over in pleasure and profit!
SMALL ORDERS: We are able to send you as few as 2 ducks or geese. They will be specially boxed with a heat pack to assure they arrive in great shape. For orders of

Buff Geese
#PGGS
Sebastopol
A very unusual breed
of geese. The frizzled
or spiraled white
feathers on this
unusual looking bird make it appear
as though it had walked through a
wind storm backwards. A good
specimen will have long curly white
feathers on the back and front which
nearly touch the ground. The neck feathers are smooth. These geese, thought to
originate in southeastern Europe, can not fly, are very gentle, make nice pets, lay
eggs fairly well, and will reach a medium size of 10-14 pounds. Quantities
limited to 5 goslings per customer.
Weeder Geese
You can turn these geese
loose in your strawberries,
corn, or cotton and let them do
the weeding. They leave your
crop and eat the weeds! Our

African
This breed is not as heavy as the
Toulouse or White Embden, but
they mature early. They are
different from other geese in
having a large black knob on their
head and a dark stripe down the back of the neck.
They are very dignified looking and attract a great
deal of attention. They are especially desirable for
crossing with the heavier breeds of geese.

Juvenile Guineas
Our juvenile guineas - age 12-18 weeks - are raised on our grass pasture and
supplemented with our natural feed.
Guineas are natural bug exterminators - they are excellent in controlling ticks
and fleas. As such - they roam in search of fresh supply of bugs. When your
guineas arrive, please be very aware of their tendency to roam. If you keep them
confined for 3-4 weeks - with food and water - they will associated that location
as home base, and even though they roam - they will tend to roost at home base.

Picture Window
and Full View Incubators
Now you can watch as eggs hatch before your eyes. This scientifically designed
styrofoam incubator weighs 4 pounds, measures 18x18x7, draws 25 watts,
and 110 volt A.C. The CIRCULATED AIR FLOW (with fan) makes incubating eggs
more reliable. The increased air flow permits the incubator to be operated at one
temperature for all sizes of eggs and climate conditions. It holds a more uniform
temperature. The Full View Electronic model comes with an electronic thermostat.
This thermostat comes with a built in fan and is so accurate you will not have to
set the temperature.
Approximate egg capacity without turner: 200 Quail, 90 Pheasant or Chukar,
70Chicken, 40 Turkey or Duck. With turner: 120 Quail, 42 Chicken, and up to
12Goose.
The Picture Window Incubator has many options; choose from the list below for
the model that is right for you. Surge protection is recommended on all
incubators. Plastic Liner is included.
UL/CUL Listed The taller design allows for setting of larger eggs
such as goose.

Universal Box Brooder
It has a clear plastic front panel that allows easy viewing of the interior. Each brooder comes with 3 28.5 troughs for feed or water mounted
on outside of brooder. The 250 watt heater provides heat while the vented plastic side panels keep out drafts. It has a socket for a low wattage
attraction bulb. Each comes with a thermometer and wafer thermostat, which is accurate to 1 degree. The floor is 1/2 mesh which allows
droppings to pass through. For quail or small chicks use the DACB paper for 4 to 7 days. Drop pans are made of lightweight
aluminum and can be pulled out even when brooders are stacked and the wire floor is heavy with birds. This box brooder is
universal as each side panel comes with adjustable gate to regulate openings for chick type and age to allow them access to
feed and water. For first 3 weeks quail chicks should use the 4YQW waterer and 4GGF1 feeder. Day-old poultry and ducks can
feed directly from the troughs. All 3 side panels and back door are easily removed for cleaning while the brooder is assembled.
(TEMPERATURE RANGE IS 75 - 115 degrees, must be located in a heated space to maintain these temperatures.) Capacity to
4th week 100 quail - 50 Chukar or Pheasants - 48 chickens (these capacities vary with breed size). Ships in 2 cartons.
Overall dimensions 32w x 38d x 12h. Blue attraction bulbs are not included. #3GMHB - $238.00

Murrays Best
Hand and Skin
Moisturizer
Is fragrance free, designed to
soften, condition and soothe dry
rough skin. Its emollients and
antioxidant vitamins moisturize
hands, arms, feet and other skin areas that
are damaged or are dry due to the rigors of
working outdoors. Frequent wetting and
drying of skin, in water and chemicals, robs
skin of essential moisture - leading to dry
chapped skin. Our Best Lotion replaces what
frequent washing and drying have taken out
of the skin. 8 oz. tube.

Coccidiosis Vaccination
Starter Kit
Mareks Vaccination
Mareks is a widespread disease affecting domestic
chickens in all sections of the world. It is
characterized by lesions affecting the nervous
system, organs, and other tissues. Young chickens
under 16 weeks of age are most susceptible. There is
no treatment for Mareks once the birds are infected.
Chicks must be vaccinated as close to the time of
hatch as possible for the vaccine to be effective. We
vaccinate all of our own breeding stock and strongly
feel that you should do the same. Vaccinating your
birds for Mareks is another appropriate step in
strong poultry management. Dont take any chances.
Let us vaccinate your chicks prior to shipment of
your order. Dont forget to mark your order blank in
the appropriate location for vaccination.

Broiler Booster
HAVE YOU HAD LEG PROBLEMS WITH YOUR
BROILERS OR ROASTERS? Cornish X Rocks, some
heavy breeds of chickens, and turkeys have
astounding growth rates. This rapid growth can
sometimes cause health problems. Broiler Booster
contains biotin, Vitamins A, D, E, B-12, and
electrolytes, all of which work together to counteract
weak legs. It is added to the water and will result in
healthier, stronger birds. If youre ordering broilertype birds, seriously consider giving them this fine
product. You should notice a difference! For a flock
of 50 chicks a 4 oz. package should last 7 weeks.
For larger quantities see The Medicine Chest section
of the catalog. Shipped with baby poultry.
