Course Description:
This script provides the students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of poetry. They will learn the definition of poetry, the kinds of poetry, and the elements of
poetry. They are given some examples of poetry and so they can define poetry using they own words. When they have learnt the theory of poetry, they are given some poems to
analyze as the practical knowledge. Then they will be assigned to read them loudly with good pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation. Finally they may try to create their own
poems.
However, in creating their own poems, they do not need to learn the theory. It is because there is no theory of how to create poems. They just need to express their idea
and feeling by exploring the potencies of language by creating their own poems.
General Competence:
After this course the students are expected to have theoretical and practical knowledge of poetry.
