DIRECTOR
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the F.M. Kirby Center for the
Performing Arts, as well as our staff and volunteers, I welcome you to the
busiest Season Brochure in our 29 years as a performing arts center!
The following pages highlight 44 new events, including great concerts,
hilarious comedians, a four-show Broadway Series, a jam-packed Family
Series, four mini film festivals and additional performances in our ongoing
Live from the Chandelier Lobby concert series.
We also bring you a Classical Arts Series that includes Puccinis classic
opera, Madama Butterfly, a rare performance by the world-famous Vienna
Boys Choir, a one-of-a-kind evening of world music from Los Lobos and
Ballet Folklorico Mexicano and so much more.
This season also boasts a Young Peoples Theater Series that is FREE to
elementary school students, thanks to a generous donation from Friends
of The Luzerne Foundation. As we continue to keep arts education at the
forefront of our mission, this is truly exciting news!
None of what we do would be possible without the generosity of our loyal
donors, members and corporate sponsors. To them, we say thank you!
Thank you for keeping our lights on, our doors open and the arts alive!
If you are not yet a member of the Kirby Center, please become one, and
you too will make a difference.
We will continue adding events throughout the season, so look for our
emails, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and bookmark
our official website www.kirbycenter.org.
We are here for you, and we are here because of you.
Thank you so much for being a part of what we do!
