During 1997-98 a Centre for Training and Placement has been started by recruiting Dr. Subba Rao
Gollapudi, M.Tech (Mechanical), IIT Kharagpur, Ph.D. (IEM), I I S, Bangalore, G.M (Rtd.), Visakhapatnam

Steel Plant as a full time Professor (IE, PE, Training & Placement) for Training and Placement activities of
Engineering College, Science College and College of Management studies. As the activities of placement have

grown, Dr Subba Rao Gollapudi continued to be Professor of Training and Placement of GIT and placement
activity has been decentralized and placement In-charges were placed for GITAM Institute of Management and
w

GITAM Institute of Science. the placement activity for MCA of Science College and GITAM Institute of Pharmacy
w

are still being looked after by Dr Subba Rao Gollapudi.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT:
While bringing various organizations and give necessary support and services to them in selecting students as
a prime activity, Dr Subba Rao Gollapudi paid major attention for Personality Development as he is professor
(training) before placing the students. To help training of the students he has obtained feedback from various
organizations, who visit GITAM Institute of Technology GITAM University as detailed: 1) Language Skills 2)
Communication Skills 3) Presentation of Project report(s) 4) Domain Knowledge in their Subjects, 5) Team
work 6) Leadership Skills.

Dr Subba Rao Gollapudi divided each class of 66 into 5 member groups and each group has to do the
Following:

1. Downloading question papers from freshers.com and yuvajobs.com answer and distribute them to each
student of the Class (Dr S R Gollapudi him self has collected questions papers of organizations, who
visited GITAM University) and solve them.
2. Download Web sites of all companies visiting GITAM University and distribute the same to each student
of the class.
3. Attend personality development classes as per schedules.
4. Do Projects in Industry: Chapter – 1. Overview of the company, Chapter – 2. Applications of the
branch in that company, Chapter – 3. In-depth study of one application, Chapter - 4.Observations and
Recommendations.
5. Prepare branch wise student lists and placement Brochures

ADP Private Limited, Hyderabad is visiting GITAM University as the first company for 2010 batch during August /

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING / PROJECTS:


All the pre-final year students of all the branches of GITAM Institute of Technology and MCA will be deputed for
Industrial Training during the summer vacation i.e. during May / June of every year.
