Crystal Structure and Imperfections: Geometry of crystalslattice points, unit
cell, primitive cell, type of crystals, miller indices, interplanar spacing, point defects
in solids-vacancies, interstitial, compositional defect and electronic defect,
Concentration of Schottky and Frenkle defect, line imperfections, Surface defect,
volume defect, dislocations.
X-rays: Production of x-ray spectra, continuous and characteristic x-ray spectra,
Moseleys law, Braggs law and its application in crystallography, non- destructive
techniques (qualitative ideas),
