Scope and Objectives of the Course


1.

To provide basic knowledge of crystal structure, its types and different types of defects in crystals. This
also includes the study of miller indices of planes in crystal structures.

To understand the structure-property relationship of different types of materials and the use of these
materials for specific applications.

Role of polymers and composites in Engineering and their advantages.
