The CW contributes to the achievement of the following learning outcomes:
Component 2 Simulation of a business meeting will test the students ability to:
1. Identify, analyse and apply relevant methods of communication.
2. Become aware of obstacles and barriers to effective communications and strategies in problem solving.
3. Structure and present personal ideas in any format (i.e. via oral presentations, meetings, debates, etc)

The CW task:
Simulation of a business meeting
The task is to prepare and present your views, ideas and arguments on a specific topic at the meeting. The meeting lasts 35-40
min and it is prepared and attended by 5 or 6 students. You are encouraged to work on some part of the task (see below steps
1, 2, 3) with your group mates in order to support your learning. Each talk will, however, be an individual piece of work not
jointly produced and will be assessed individually.
Follow the steps below:
1.
2.

Imagine that you are employees of a company/organization.

Choose a topic of a meeting that is likely to be discussed in a company of your choice. (See the list of suggested topics
below)
3. Compile the agenda and submit it to the chair prior to the meeting. The number of points in agenda should be equal to
the number of students in a group so that each student is responsible to speak about one point.
4. Collect and analyze information which will be necessary for your talk.
5. Structure your speech and prepare technology to support your speech if necessary.
6. Present your talk at the meeting that will be chaired by one of you. You will be given the exact date and time of the
meeting beforehand by your ML. Your speech should be no longer than 4 min. You may wish to take notes of your
colleagues speeches to refer to them in your own speech during the meeting.
7. Participate actively in a follow up discussion that will last 15 min.
