Paranormal events in Canary Islands.

San Borondn Island

One of the most well-known ghosts in Canary Islands isnt an entity itself,
but an island. It is known that Canary Islands are made up of seven islands,
however, according to the local folklore theres an eighth island: San
Borondn Island, which got its name from an Irish monk who sailed towards
the Atlantic Ocean in a small vessel accompanied by two other monks. They
got off the boat in a leafy island, which suddenly started shaking and looked
like a gigantic sea creature. Nonetheless, this isnt the only legend which
mentions the island. About the sixteenth century, the sailors used to speak
constantly about an eighth island, which could be seen at the west of La
Palma, el Hierro y la Gomera. However, no sooner had they reached its
coast that the island was covered by a thick fog and disappeared.
This mysterious island, also known as the ghost island, is still invisible for
most of the time, but there are registers which hold the testimonies of
witnesses who have seen the island. San Borodn is another of the big
mysteries which last throughout the years, keeping its romantic and
enigmatic character.
Luz Mafasca
After an exhausting day, two shepherds were on their way back home when
they decided to stop to have a break and roast the ram theyd just killed.
Couple of hours later, they had gathered some wood but it wasnt enough.
Surprisingly, near the edge of the path they found a wooden cross and
decided to break it to fuel the fire. But what they knew nothing about was
that the cross was there to mark the grave of a girl.
Slowly, the fire consumed the cross, which apparently was the jail of a light
spirit. That night, the shepherds run away horrified, unconsciously setting
the Luz Mafasca free. Since then, it has been following every single traveler
who dared to go through its path at night, including many present witnesses
who can assure the hideous experience.

Useful expressions.
Do you believe in ghosts?
No, I do not believe in ghosts, I believe in the power of our imagination.
Probably due to my scientific and logical mind, I cant just simply believe
something I havent deeply experienced. When it comes to paranormal
events most of the times I put the blame on the coincidences instead of
thinking about any ghost or spirit. Besides, if I dont have faith in God,
theres no point in having faith in ghosts or spirits either.
Personal Paranormal experiences.
One of the paranormal experiences Ive gone through took place when I was
three years old. Back then, my imagination reached such a high power that I
could hear voices at sleeping time, when I was alone in my room. In fact, my
father stopped reading me tales before going to bed, since hearing voices or
watching shadows of monsters, became quite common. One of the noises I
wont ever forget is the scream of the Green Goblin, from the Spider-man
film. Every single time I went into my room, I heard that hideous scream
coming from the outside to beat my ears.
The other one I can remember is related to my departed aunt. After two
years she had spent fighting against her cancer, she passed away. Since she
got along quite well with my mother, my uncle decided to give one of my
aunts necklace to my mom. She and the necklace became inseparable,
until two years ago in the parade of the Three Wise Men. No sooner had we
got into the car to go back home that my mom realized her precious
necklace was missing. My father said to her that itd be impossible to get it
back, since that evening the place from where we saw the parade was quite
overcrowded, but my mother insisted in going back for the necklace. Guess
what: the necklace was laying on the grass, probably on the same place
where she dropped it. Not only nobody had found it, but also nobody had
stepped on it.

The Tower of London, dating back over 900 years, is known as one of
the most haunted places in Britain. In 1078, the first stone section of the
tower was built and commissioned by William the Conqueror. It slowly
morphed over time with additional structures and towers being added. Like
Alcatraz, much human suffering went on within the cold stone walls
including executions, imprisonment and torture. It wasn't just reserved for
the lowly criminal but for the famous and powerful as well. Social stature
mattered not for the Tower of London!
One recorded haunting from the 19th century was from a Crown Jewel
keeper E. L. Swifte. He and his family were having dinner in the Martin Tower
when his alarmed wife spotted a moving object. Both he and his wife
witnessed what looked to be a cylindrical object, resembling that of a lab
tube, filled with blue bubbling fluid. Tube or not, the wife claimed it tried to
grab her (not sure how a tube with no hands would do that but it gave the
wife that impression). The tube seemed to be an apparition as Swifte tried
to throw a chair at it but it went straight through it. t then vanished into thin
air.
The Tower of London Of the famous that haunt the Tower, there are
reports that the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn meanders the eerie corridors
of the White Tower. She was one of two wives that were ordered for
execution by husband, Henry VIII; the other being Catherine Howard. Anne is
also spotted in the Chapel of Saint Peter ad Vincula where she watches over
her own grave under the altar. Catherine on the other hand can be heard
screaming behind the door of the room she was kept in before her
execution.
Other famous ghosts are Thomas A. Becket who struck down the
Traitor's Gate with a crucifix, witnessed by a priest. People have also seen
12-year-old King Edward V and his 9-year-old brother Richard Duke of York in
the Bloody Tower still wearing the white gowns they were imprisoned in.
Foggy figures, soldiers, and 16-year-old Lady Jane Grey haunt the
battlements of the Tower of London. Whole squads of soldiers have been
seen marching the grounds.
This place has no shortage of ghosts as you can see! These famous
rumors intrigued the BBC and they teamed up with paranormal investigators
to try and capture some of these ghostly images using special cameras that
convert night-time into day and infra-red light, aka "black cameras". They
also used temperature gauges, and other devices to prove or disprove some
of these haunting claims. Though they could disprove much of what seemed
odd about the Tower, there were still 10% of their experiences that baffled
them. They also came away with "wonderful" images including unusual orbs
of light. They claimed they were much less skeptical after their
investigation.

The final interesting tidbit about the Tower of London is that there are
always ravens present at the Tower. It is legend that if the ravens were ever
to leave the tower, England would perish!
Lucy the doll.
As a young child, I always enjoyed playing with my dollies as many young
girls do. Now the age of 16, I wish I could have found out more about my
experience and maybe some explanations as to why it happened to me.
I don't remember much from when I was in my primary school years, but
this was certainly one that I remember as if it were yesterday.
There was a jumble sale that took place in the hall of my primary around the
year 2007 (I was about 8 at the time). There were many unwanted toys that
had been brought in by children's parents and the children themselves,
none of which seemed to catch my eye. I was never a lover of shiny, newlooking toys which is what the majority of them were.
After a good rummage through the piles of items, I eventually stumbled
across a ragged looking doll. The doll itself wasn't porcelain or made from
any kind of plastic material but instead it was a soft, crochet doll that looked
fairly mistreated and had a lot of the stitches torn from its mouth and dress.
I was thrilled at the fact I had another doll to add to my collection and I had
no suspicions of the doll at this time as being particularly strange or
abnormal (undoubtedly because of my naivety at the age that I was).
When I got home that afternoon, I placed the doll on my bed and for the first
couple weeks or so nothing out of the ordinary happened.
As I began to collect more and more toys, I gradually started to remove
certain toys that had been on my bed for some time and although Lucy (the
doll) was my favourite at this time, I had to move her to a large wooden box
that I kept a lot of my other stuffed toys in.
That night, I settled down with a Disney video and was beginning to drift to
sleep when I noticed something was poking out from the top of my toy box
that was just to the right of my bed. It was Lucy. It seemed to stand on both
its legs, arms side by side with an unusual facial expression that was
unoriginal to the doll, almost like it was smirking.
I did not feel threatened by the doll and I continued to stare at the doll for a
few seconds until, unexpectedly, the doll seemed to physically jump from
one side of the box to the other. I rushed to the box, only to find Lucy, laid
flat at the top of the pile and motionless.
Since then, I have now moved in with my grandma and have no current
recollection of the dolls whereabouts, but I suspect it may still be
somewhere within my mum's house.
I would be interested in hearing what you guys think. Although the story is
nothing too crazy, I still count this as a paranormal experience and would
like to hear your opinion
Curious visit.

One weekend I had gone to my Grandparent's house for the weekend due to
my Mom and Dad wanting a "Mommy and Daddy only weekend". Well, as
most of our family knows their house is haunted, but the problem was I was
very young probably 7 or 8 years old, and nobody wanted me to know. That
night I had been watching TV with my Grandfather, when suddenly I seen a
shadow in the corner of my eye, but not a human like shadow, but more like
a animal like shadow. I didn't think much of it I thought it was one of my
sisters who were also there for the weekend with me. It had been about 30
minutes since I had seen the shadow, and I was tired and it was time for me
to go to bed. So my Grandpa and my Grandma had tucked me and my
sisters into bed and left the room turning out the light.
After a while I had fallen asleep on that really hard couch, I was out. I had
been sleeping for what felt like hours but had only been about 20 minutes. I
was in some kind of dream that was making me sweat like horse on a hot
summer day. Then all of a sudden I felt something hit me harder than a
train. I woke up to what looked like a white face. The face was of a young
girl about the age I am, 17, her eyes were a deep shade of green, and she
looked more playful than scary. So, I went to say hello and I swear she
opened her mouth a row of the sharpest teeth showed.
I was terrified I screamed and screamed and then she vanished into thin air.
My Grandfather came down the stairs fast, and my sisters woke up too. They
were all looking at me, and my Grandpa said what is wrong looking at me
like I had just been shot. I told him the story of what had just happened, and
he played it off as a bad dream, and tucked me back into bed telling me
goodnight, and sat down in the rocking in the chair next to me for the rest of
the night.
It has been about 10 years since then and I asked my Grandpa not too long
ago if he remembered that night. He told me he remembers like the back of
his hand. I asked him if he knew about this thing that I had saw that night,
and he told me about the original owners of the house we still live in to this
day, and man can I say I would never want this to happen to anybody. He
told me back in 1909 (the year the house was built) that murder happened
in the very living room I was sleeping in. He told me a young woman had
been living there and the living room was her bedroom, and one horrid night
a man broke in an stabbed her to death and burned her body to white ashes
outside the house making her an example of what he said he was capable
of.
This has been one of my many paranormal experiences. I would love to tell
you more. Thanks for reading.~ Signed Korius.
