State of Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities— Case Coordinator 2007 --Current


Responsible for coordinating the care of 70 developmentally disabled adult consumers in
accordance with state and federal regaulations. Coordinate services to providers and consumers to
resolve life problems, and advocate for quality care by planning and follow up with consumers,
families and community resources.

Company provided human resource and marketing services to small & medium size companies,
Indian Reservations and Casinos in the Southwest US. Started company from conception and built
to $2.6M with 100+ employees.

• Grew business from 1 account to 12 on-going accounts and 54 seasonal contracts. Grew profits
from $34K to 2.6 million in a 7 year span.
• Developed a marketing department for customers which became 90% of the total company

• Developed and instituted marketing strategies, identifying synergies between existing lines of
business to maximize product distribution, as well as new business opportunities that increased
profitability and revenue.
• Reduced costs through transformation of staff models to an exclusive network model comprised
of private practice providers; saved over $12M a month in employee salaries, lease expenses,
equipment and other line items.
• Developed and expanded employee assistance programs in 4 states to increase revenues and
reduce hospitalization expense.
• Achieved profit turnaround of 18% profit ratio in 6 months and 65% in 2 years.
• Directed start up of the 1st managed psychiatric mental health care plan for CIGNA in New
Mexico.

• Grew budget from $24.8M (at risk contract carve out contract) to over $112M in a 4 year period.

• Reduced patient complaints and grievances from 43 per 100 visits to 2 per 1,000 visits.
• Instituted a standard 6-session authorization to contracted providers for each new patient
referred to network providers which decreased number of calls from network providers and
allowed utilization review staff to concentrate on more serious cases.
• Partnered with a local hospital provider and developed a Co Attending Utilization Review Team
which decreased hospital days by 3.2 days and increased revenue for partner hospital 35%.
