LANDING PROCEDURES
Cruise to Climb
1. Put the nose to climb attitude, wing level & ball center.
2. Speed will decrease (85 mph/75 knots)
3. at the same time open power 2500 rpm
4. Apply right rudder to maintain wing level & ball center.
5. Maintain climb speed & heading
6. Maintain climb attitude and trim the A/C
Climb to Cruise
1. Put the nose on the cruising attitude, Check VSI: 0 fpm
2. Speed increase to 90 mph - 100 mph
3. Reduce power to 2100 rpm
4. Apply left rudder to maintain ball center
5. Maintain altitude, heading and trim the A/C
Cruise to Descend

1. Close power & apply left rudder to maintain ball center

4. Maintain gliding attitude and speed

1. Set the nose to cruise attitude
2. at the same time open power to 2100 rpm
3. Apply right rudder to maintain wing level & ball center
4. Maintain cruise altitude, heading and speed

1. Reduce power to 1800 rpm
2. Apply left rudder to maintain wing level & ball center
3. Maintain altitude & heading
4. Speed white arc, lowering flaps to 10
5. Hold the nose, check VSI: 0 fpm
6. Check speed approaching 80 mph/70 knots
7. Open power as required to maintain slow flight speed
8. Apply right rudder to maintain ball center
9. Maintain altitude VSI: 0 fpm, heading and trim the A/C

Recovery:
1. Lower the nose positive below horizon

6. Set nose to climb back to initial altitude
7. Trim the A/C

3. Open power full (2500 rpm)
4. Apply right rudder to maintain wing level & ball center
5. Check speed:
60 mph/52 knots: flaps up from 30-20
65 mph/57 knots: flaps up from 20-10
70 mph/60 knots: flaps full up
6. Speed 75 mph/65 knots
7. Set nose to climb back to initial altitude
8. Trim the A/C

1. Fly A/C or push flight control fwd for gliding attitude
2. Clean configuration: gears up & flaps up
3. Check gliding speed: 80 mph/70 knots

2. Open power, apply right rudder to maintain ball center
3. Check VSI and gears up & speed:
60 mph/52 knots: flaps up from 30-20
65 mph/57 knots: flaps up from 20-10
70 mph/60 knots: flaps full up
75 mph/65 knots: climb back to initial altitude
4. Engine instrument check
EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
DURING TAKE-OFF
(Just After Airborne)
A. Engine fails
1. Decide to land again
2. Close throttle smoothly
3. Maintain heading or keep straight
4. Apply brake if necessary, till the A/C stops
5. Complete the final check list
6. Call tower and explain the trouble
7. Cancel the flight
B. Engine fire
C. Radio fails
1. After start-turn on Radio & ADF system-turn to correct frequencies
2. If there is no sound on Tx or Rx, try to reselect or re-tune to other freq.
3. Tx: turn the volume control to maximum selection
4. Rx: turn to squelch control to maximum selection
5. If there is still no sound, cancel the flight
D. Radio transmitter (Tx) fails
1. RTB by following the traffic
2. Keep listening, watch for tower instruction & traffic
3. Switch on the landing light on final approach
4. Make a safe landing and cancel the flight

A. Engine fails
1. Push flight control for gliding attitude
2. Close throttle smoothly, maintain gliding speed
3. Proceed to the best field for forced landing
4. Check for causes, if necessary:
Fuel pressure/Qty, Booster/Fuel Pump, Mixture control & Fuel

Carburetor heater control

5. Do final cockpit check
6. Call tower and explain the trouble
7. Try to land the A/C safely
8. Abandon the A/C after stop rolling
B. Engine fire
1. Mixture idle cut off
2. Fuel valve off
3. Put the nose into gliding attitude and maintain gliding speed
4. Fly side slip by means of cross control
5. Do final cockpit check & use fire extinguisher
6. Select the best field
7. Try to land the A/C safely, use flaps as necessary
8. Abandon the A/C into the wind
9. Cancel the flight

LOST POSITION
A. RTB
Return to base by means of ADF Homing procedure
B. ADF fail
1. Fly with long range power setting (down wind power setting)
2. Call tower or other A/C in the air
3. Explain your last position, if possible explain easy observable
visual fix
or
1. During report to tower, explain that you picked a new
heading: North
2. Continue with heading north (compass) till reaching coast line
3. Turn to heading east or west (compass) and try to observe
a known check point
4. Fly home, if you are sure your last check point
5. Avoid cloud or fly below the cloud but do not fly below
500 ft, if possible
