Itipi so, bhagav araha samm-sambuddho,
Such indeed is he, the blessed One is a Worthy One, Fully Awakened by
himself,
Vijj-caraa-sampanno, sugato, lokavid
Consumate in knowledge and conduct, the sublime one, knower of the
worlds,
Anuttaro purisa-damma-srathi
Incomparable master of those to be tamed,
satth deva-manussna,
Teacher of devas and humans,
buddho bhagavti.
Awakened and blessed.

Dhammanusati Salutation to the Dhamma


Svkkhto, bhagavat dhammo,
Well-expounded, Is the Dhamma by the blessed one,
Sandihiko, akliko,
To be seen here and now, timeless,
Ehipassiko,
Inviting one to come and see,
Opanayiko,
Leading inwards,
paccatta veditabbo vihti.
To be understood individually by the wise.

Sanghanusati - Salutation to the Sangha


Supaipanno, bhagavato svaka-sagho,
Well practiced, is the Blessed Ones community of [noble] disciples,
Uju-paipanno bhagavato svaka-sagho,
Directly practiced is the Blessed Ones community of [noble] disciples,
ya-patipanno bhagavato svaka-sagho,
Methodically practiced is the Blessed Ones community of [noble] disciples,
Smci-patipanno bhagavato svaka-sagho
Properly practiced is the Blessed Ones community of [noble] disciples,
Yadida cattri purisa-yugni aha purisa-puggal, Esa
bhagavato svaka-sagho:
This is to say, the four pairs of humans, the eight types of persons, this is
the Blessed Ones community of disciples:
huneyyo, phuneyyo, dakkhieyyo, ajali-karayo,
Worthy of offerings, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a teachers gift,
worthy of reverential salutation,
Anuttara puakkhetta lokassti.
The unsurpassed field of merit for the world.

Buddha-jaya-magala Gth
The Verses of the Buddhas Auspicious Victories
Bhu sahassamabhinimmita svudhanta
Creating a form with 1,000 arms, each equipped with a weapon,
Grmekhala udita-ghora-sasena-mra
Mara, on the elephant Girimekhala, uttered a frightening roar together with
his troops.
Dndi-dhamma-vidhin jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of such qualities as generosity:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Mrtirekama bhiyujjhita sabba ratti
Even more frightful than Mara making war all night
Ghorampan'avaka-makkham-athaddha-yakkha
Was avaka, the arrogant unstable ogre.
Khant-sudanta-vidhin jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of well-trained endurance:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Ngiri gaja-vara atimattabhta
Ngiri, the excellent elephant, when maddened,
Dvaggi cakkamasanva sudruanta
Was very horrific, like a forest fire, a flaming discus, a lightning bolt.
Mett'ambuseka-vidhin jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him by sprinkling the water of good will:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.

Ukkhit-khaggama-tihattha sudruantim
Very horrific, with a sword upraised in his expert hand,
Dhvan-ti-yojana-path'aguli-mlavanta
Garlanded-with-Fingers ran three leagues along the path.
Iddhbhisakhata-mano jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him with mind-fashioned marvels:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Katvna kaham-udara iva gabbhiny
Having made a wooden belly to appear pregnant,
Cicya duha-vacana jana-kya-majjhe
Cica made a lewd accusation in the midst of the gathering.
Santena soma-vidhin jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated her with peaceful, gracious means:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Sacca vihya mati-saccaka-vda-ketu
Saccaka, whose provocative views had abandoned the truth,
Vdbhiropita-mana ati-andhabhta
Delighting in argument, had become thoroughly blind.
Pa-padpa-jalito jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him with the light of discernment:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.

Nandopananda-bhujaga vibudha mahiddhi


Nandopananda was a serpent with great power but wrong views.
Puttena thera-bhujagena dampayanto
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of a display of marvels,
Iddhpadesa-vidhin jitav munindo
sending his son (Moggallana), the serpent-elder, to tame him:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Duggha-dihi-bhujagena sudaha-hattha
His hands bound tight by the serpent of wrongly held views,
Brahma visuddhi-jutimiddhi-bakbhidhna
Baka, the Brahma, thought himself pure in his radiance and power.
gadena vidhin jitav munindo
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of his words of knowledge:
Tan-tejas bhavatu te jaya-magalni.
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
Etpi buddha-jaya-magala-aha-gth
These eight verses of the Buddha's victory blessings:
Yo vcano dinadine sarate matand
Whatever person of discernment
Hitvn'aneka-vividhni c'upaddavni
Recites or recalls them day after day without lapsing,
Mokkha sukha adhigameyya naro sapao.
Destroying all kinds of obstacles,
Will attain emancipation and happiness.

Mah-kruiko ntho
(The Buddha), our protector, with great compassion,
Hitya sabba-pina
For the welfare of all beings,
Pretv pram sabb
Having fulfilled all the perfections,
Patto sambodhim-uttama
Attained the highest self-awakening.
Etena sacca-vajjena
Through the speaking of this truth,
Hotu te jaya-magala.
may you have a victory blessing.
Jayanto bodhiy mle
Victorious at the foot of the Bodhi tree,
Sakyna nandi-vahano
Was he who increased the Sakyans' delight.
Eva tvam vijayo hohi
May you have the same sort of victory,
Jayassu jaya-magale.
May you win victory blessings.
Aparjita-pallake
At the head of the lotus leaf of the world
Sse pahavi-pokkhare
On the undefeated seat
Abhiseke sabba-buddhna
Consecrated by all the Buddhas,
Aggappatto pamodati.
He rejoiced in the utmost attainment.

Sunakkhatta sumagala
A lucky star it is, a lucky blessing,
Supabhta suhuhita
a lucky dawn, a lucky sacrifice,
Sukhao sumuhutto ca
a lucky instant, a lucky moment,
Suyiha brahmacrisu
a lucky offering:
Padakkhia kya-kamma
i.e., a rightful bodily act
Vc-kamma padakkhia
a rightful verbal act, a rightful mental act,
Padakkhia mano-kamma
your rightful intentions
Paidh te padakkhi
with regard to those who lead the chaste life.
Padakkhini katvna
Doing these rightful things,
Labhantatthe, padakkhie.
your rightful aims are achieved.
Bhavatu sabba-magala
Rakkhantu sabba-devat
May all blessings be upon you. May all gods protect you.
Sabba-buddhnubhvena
Sad sotth bhavantu te.
Through the power of all the Buddhas, may you always be well.
Bhavatu sabba-magala
Rakkhantu sabba-devat
May all blessings be upon you. May all gods protect you.
Sabba-dhammnubhvena
Sad sotth bhavantu te.
Through the power of all the Dhammas, may you always be well.

Aspiration
Aha sukhito homi
May I be happy.
Niddukkho homi
May I be free from stress and pain.
Avero homi
May I be free from animosity.
Abypajjho homi
May I be free from oppression.
Angho homi
May I be free from trouble.
Sukh attna pariharmi
May I look after myself with ease.

Mett
Good will for all beings
Sabbe satt sukh hontu.
May all living beings be happy.
Sabbe satt aver hontu.
May all living beings be free from animosity.

Sabbe satt abypajjh hontu.


May all living beings be free from oppression.
Sabbe satt angh hontu.
May all living beings be free from trouble.
Sabbe satt sukh attna pariharantu.
May all living beings look after themselves with ease.

Transference of Merit
Ida me mtpitna hotu.
Sukhit hontu mtpitaro.
May these merits accrue to my mother and father. May they be happy.

Sukhit hontu tayo.
May these merits accrue to all my relatives. May they be happy.
Ida me gurpajjhycariyna hotu.
Sukhit hontu gurpajjhycariy.
May these merits accrue to all my teachers and preceptors. May they be
happy.
Ida sabba devna hotu.
Sukhit hontu sabbe dev.
May these merits accrue to all heavenly beings. May they be happy.
Ida sabba petna hotu.
Sukhit hontu sabbe pet.
May these merits accrue to all hungry ghosts. May they be happy.
