We should try to solve conflict by overcoming and transcending differences. We should try and understand cultures
rather than fight them. To resolve lasting conflict, differences must be accepted. The problem with the conflict is not
the differences, but rather the prejudice behind them. To neutralize conflict, people must get over the idea of fearing
the unknown. In Megan Stacks anthology, Every Man In This Village Is A Liar: An Education In War, conflict is a
prevalent theme, consistently arising in some chapters. The causes of these conflicts include the difference of
religion, race and opposing ideals. To solve the revealed conflict, the differences must be put aside to welcome a
state of peace.
In order to begin resolving conflict, we must accept differences. One of the main causes of conflict is the fact that
people do not recognize the differences between people from other creeds. Conflict can come from differing countries
failing to accept one another. Although people may have inconsequential differences amongst their diverse countries,
conflict arising from racial prejudice is still prevalent. In Megan Stacks autobiographical anthology of swag many
different places harbor people that hate one another. Syria out, we hate you are only some of the words chanted by
protestors in a general hatred towards Syria. (I actually have no idea about this quote or its context)
Difference isnt the problem, prejudice is.
We must get over the idea of fearing the unknown.
