- Ky nam is a special resinous wood formed in heartwood of Aquilaria crassna Pierre ex
Lecomte only, but very rare (only 1/1000 100-year old Aquilaria crassna tree may give Ky
nam and only in five regions of Vietnam: Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa
and Kontum, cannot find Ky nam in other places of Vietnam). Aquilaria crassna Pierre ex
Lecomte exists only in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in which Vietnam is the original
cradle. To differentiate Kynam and normal Agarwood, please refer to
www.scribd.com/doc/26510562. Vietnamese Kynam hunters casually found Kynam in
some ancient tree (even 200-year old) of Aquilaria crassna Pierre ex Lecomte. A number
of Kynam hunters already died in deep forests. Kynam hunter’s life is stained in blood

- Ky nam spirit is a product of solvent extraction (to steep Ky nam chips in high quality
glutinous rice spirit).
