SUMMARY
Safedock Advanced Docking Guidance Systems on Terminal 1 pier Bravo & Charlie
have recently been installed.
PROGRAMME

2.1

Safedock will be operated solely by Handling Agents from 12.00 local time (midday)
Monday 4th February 2013.

2.2

Safedock must only be operated by personnel who have received formal training and
are deemed competent to carry out this task.

3.0

It is the responsibility of all employers to bring this instruction to the attention of their staff. However, individuals
remain responsible for their own actions. Those persons whom require further information should consult their
supervisor or manager.

OBJECTIVE
To emphasise the importance and availability of the Aircraft Emergency Stop
Button to all Airside Operators regardless of position held or involvement in
the Aircraft arrival.

4.0

INFORMATION

4.1

Aircraft Emergency Stop buttons are located on highly visible Head of Stand
Safety Boards at all terminal pier aircraft parking stands AND inside the
Airbridge head, next to the control panel.

4.2

The Aircraft Emergency Stop Button is to be used when there is an urgent


requirement to indicate to an aircraft parking on a stand that it should
immediately stop. This should only be used in a situation where a hazard is
observed that could lead to an accident involving the aircraft whilst in
motion.

4.3

Any airside operator regardless of position held or involvement in the


aircraft arrival is able and encouraged to activate the Aircraft Emergency
Stop Button if a hazard is observed.

4.4

Once the Emergency stop button has been pressed the Aircraft
Emergency STOP display will start flashing and will be locked on.
