Leading function band, Northern Vinyl, have recently recruited two new members: young and
talented guitarist Richie, and well-established bass-player Ian, join Mark on drums to bring
something new but familiar to the band.
Ian a pro musician has been on the music circuit
since he was 16 and has a wealth of experience
on the Bass guitar playing at functions/weddings
in Jazz/contemporary ensembles, big swing
bands and Rock acts including a spell on the
drums for Indie band Brick Supply (writers of the
Dubstar hit Not So Manic Now).

Ian having toured extensively around the world, taking in venues in New York, Dubai, Russia, Europe
the UK and Ireland and having made appearances at Glastonbury and many other UK festivals of
note. He has also achieved airplay on Radio 1 and in the US whilst working with artists such as Ian

Ritchie joined the Northern Vinyl line up earlier in 2014 and has
performed on most of the bands bookings over the last 12
months.
At just 20 years old and the youngest Ritchie was the regular
stand in for many other local bands due to his ability to learn
songs quickly, stage charisma and outstanding musical skills. A
graduate of Leeds College of Music he has appeared at many
Leeds venues including three appearances at the o2 Academy in
Leeds. Ritchie was the guitarist for veteran punk rock band
Abrasive Wheels, who had achieved popularity in 80s
exclusively writing their upcoming EP.
Mark (Drummer) and the founder band member has had a lifetime of growing up around music
meant that it was only natural to start his own band. After moving on from trumpet to drums at a
young age playing for a wealth of different bands, and a session musician for radio, film and TV. Hes
supported artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Jimmy Ruffin and The Housemartins and toured throughout
Europe and the UK for TV gigs and festivals. Outside of Northern Vinyl he even finds time to run a
studio in Morley where he teaches drums to budding musicians. You can find out more about his
drum tuition here: www.mb-drumtuition.co.uk
