REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Parking Brake Cable Rear
Removal
1.

NOTE: Make sure the parking brake control is

fully released.
Relieve the tension on the parking brake
system.

Pull the front parking brake cable and

conduit.

Insert a 4 mm (5/32-inch) drill bit or

equivalent retainer into the parking brake
control.

Remove the tire and wheel assembly. For

additional information, refer to Section 204-04.

3.

NOTE: Disconnect the parking brake

intermediate cable from the locating hole end of
the connector.

4.

Separate the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit from the LH parking brake rear cable
and conduit at the parking brake cable
equalizer.

5.

Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to LH parking brake rear cable and
conduit clip.

Disconnect the parking brake intermediate cable

from the LH parking brake rear cable and
conduit.

Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit from the parking brake cable bracket.

Compress the parking brake cable clip.

Remove the RH parking brake rear cable

and conduit from the parking brake cable
bracket.

Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit from the rear parking brake cable
retainer.

8.

Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the RH hydraulic brake line clip.

9.

Remove the parking brake cable retainer clip.

Remove the parking brake cable retainer

clip bolt.

Remove the parking brake cable retainer

clip.

10. Unclip the parking brake rear cable and conduit

from the brake line clip on top of the rear axle
housing.

11. Compress the retainer and release the parking

brake rear cable and conduit from the rear disc
brake caliper anchor plate.

12. Unclip the parking brake rear cable and conduit
from the parking brake lever.

Clip the parking brake rear cable and conduit to

the brake line clip on top of the rear axle
housing.

Install the parking brake cable retainer clip.

Installation

Clip the parking brake rear cable and conduit to

the parking brake lever.

Connect the parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the rear disc brake caliper anchor
plate.

5.

Position the parking brake cable retainer

clip.

Install the parking brake cable retainer clip

bolt.

Install the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the RH hydraulic brake line clip.

Hook the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the rear parking brake cable retainer.

Connect the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the LH parking brake rear cable and
conduit at the parking brake cable equalizer.

Connect the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the parking brake cable bracket.

Install the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the parking brake cable bracket.

Push the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit into the parking brake cable bracket
until the parking brake cable and conduit
clip is seated.

10. Connect the parking brake intermediate cable to

the LH parking brake rear cable and conduit.

Install the RH parking brake rear cable and

conduit to the LH parking brake rear cable and
conduit clip.

11. Install the front wheel and tire assemblies. For

additional information, refer to Section 204-04.

12. Apply tension to the parking brake system.

Pull down on the front parking brake cable

and conduit.

Remove the retainer from the parking brake

control.
