The ORTEC Software Development department consists of over 100 professionals, mainly
located in the Netherlands and Romania, enhancing and improving our standard products. In
Romania you will become part of a fast growing team offering a lot of opportunities. We apply
agile principles in our software development process and like to work closely with our customers
(internal and external). Our development approach will bring you into contact with people
working in different disciplines like architects and test professionals.

their products state of the art. The result is a sophisticated service oriented framework on which
our products are based. Their next goal is to improve user experience by introducing new
technologies related to their user interface. This involves building single page applications,
mobile applications and enabling our software for the cloud.
In this context, our client aims to open a new role into the organization and started a search
process for Senior System Manager.

Job role and responsibilities:


The future Senior System Manager possesses the knowledge and experience to take
responsibility for the management, monitoring and expansion and / or improvement of any part
of our clients IT infrastructure.
He / she will contribute to the functional and technical management of our clients IT
infrastructure and the development, testing, acceptance and implementation of changes,
performing activities such as:

Apply and maintain installation and configuration procedures


Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for
system administration tasks
Responsible for hosted servers, backup and restore plans
Perform regular system and security monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all
hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application
logs, backups
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
Apply OS updates on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
Configure / add new services as necessary
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures

Candidate profile:

Bachelors Degree
A minimum of 6 years of work experience, dealing with complex infrastructures in a
multinational environment
A minimum of 2 years people management experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in tracking, planning projects, working with clients
(internal and external)
Strong technical skills required, including Microsoft back office (Exchange, System Center,
Lync, SQL Server), Microsoft Windows based networks
Virtualization experience using: VMWare (ESX, VCenter); is a plus to have working
experience with Hyper-V and Citrix
In-depth knowledge and understanding of networking infrastructure and protocols (TCP/IP,
DNS, DHCP and VPN)
Knowledge of anti-virus and firewall solutions (servers and work-stations) from selection,
installation and administration
Administration of a data center with storage (SAN) and switching/routing technology
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret
customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Develop and provide support to direct reports to proactively recognize risks and utilize
appropriate resources to develop mitigation strategies that minimize client and operational
impact
Good command in English both written and spoken
Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus
