The first week of the month started with a Lenten season.

it was holy week and a

declared holiday by the government. But as a community health care provider and a
recognized 24/7 health facility, our duty stayed as is. We still performed routine
immunization on the infants. We still catered emergency cases and other programbased diseases such as IMCI and give appropriate medications.
I still got to encode some mother with unmet needs on maternal health through EMTT
system. I have to update my TCL every now and then and have to submit reports of the
previous month.
On April 6, 2015 (Monday) our MHO decided to go to Iligan City to buy necessary things
needed for the renovation of our mini kitchen. We also bought large tent for our
Wednesday consultation of patients in order for us to better provide quality service due
to limited space in our RHU.
It was on April 7, 2015 (Tuesday) when we have attended the ARMMPEN (Autonomous
Region in Muslim Mindanao Package of Essential Non-Communicable Diseases at
Conference Hall, Provincial Capitol, Marawi City. I was with my co-workers in Ramain.
We were 7 health care providers who attended the said event. ARMMPEN was a subset
of PhilPEN and WHOPEN.
The Non-Communicable Disease (Non-Com) Team was headed by Dr. Toto Usman.
They were the ones who discussed the NCDs and ways of assessing and managing the
said diseases. Assessment includes waist circumference, blood glucose, cholesterol,
blood pressure and urinalysis. We even had the chance to check on our waist
circumference, blood glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and urinalysis as the team
provides the materials needed.
Last April 23, 2015 at Crossroads Diner, Saduc, Marawi City; the IPHO have conducted
roll-out training on Health Facility Registry. It was supposed to be held at Jims Caf but
later on the day of the training it was held at Crossroads which was not far from the
original venue. And this training was also supposed to be attended by the head of units
at General Santos City, but due to shortcoming in the information dissemination, the
IPHO have let the MHO to attend or not to the said event.
In the Crossroads Diner, the trained personnel Mr. Farhan, an IT and Mr, Abs, an NDP
who attended the seminar-training at GenSan facilitated the training of the RHUs in
Lanao del Sur. It was more on technology-use seminar which required an android
system phones or phablets.
The program started at approximately 2 in the afternoon with Mohammad Farhan
Farouk, an IT from IPHO, who did an invocation followed by national anthem and
acknowledgement of participants by Maam Monatao. PHO II, Dr. Alinader Minalang

was not around during the workshop for the opening remarks but was being
represented by our PHO I, Dr. Shalimar Rakiin.
To evaluate our knowledge on GPS essentials workshop, they have let us used the
application and went outside the venue for trial. It was a good experience.

LEARNING AND INSIGHTS

During the ARMMPEN, we have learned so many things. The discussions were
delivered understandably. It was also interactive. I have learned things that basically a
healthcare provider should know. Like when should you start the management and what
to do on pre state.
