excluding the day of discovery.
Category D
Items in this category shall be rectified within one hundred and twenty (120) consecutive
calendar days, excluding the day of discovery.
MEL PRESENTATION (MEL Pg100)
A dash - in Column 2 indicates that no repair interval is allowed as the item must be
operative for dispatch.
A dash - in Column 3 or Column 4 indicates a variable quantity.
The Centralized Fault Displayed System (CFDS) indicates the identity of faulty system for
maintenance purpose and is not required for dispatch of the aircraft.
MEL REPAIR INTERVAL EXTENSION (MEL Pg61)
In the event that the rectification of an item with a Category B or C repair interval cannot
be accomplished within the time limits specified in the MEL, an extension of the repair
interval by the same duration as that specified for the category is permitted once only.

ONE ENGINE OUT CLIMB PROCEDURE (Ch 8.9 1.5 para6)
Regulatory minimum acceleration height is fixed to 400 feet above the take-off surface.
ONE ENGINE OUT CLIMB PROCEDURE (Ch 8.9 1.5 para7)
The maximum acceleration height ensures that, in the case of engine failure at V1, the
aircraft will be at green dot speed in clean configuration within 10 min at TOGA thrust.
Obstacle Clearance (Ch 8.5 1.7)
1. The minimum acceleration altitude ensures obstacle clearance should an engine failure occur
during takeoff or initial climb-out.
2. The engine failure route to be followed is the straight-out track, except where a special engine
failure route is prescribed.
3. When flying on a SID or other assigned route, which deviates from the straight-out, or the
prescribed engine failure route, as applicable, obstacle clearance is not assured in an engine-out
situation. It is the Commander's responsibility to ensure that a safe flight path is established taking into
account terrain and ATC requirements.
4. The Take-off Performance module of the Less Paper Cockpit (LPC) takes into account all critical
obstacles up to 30 nms in the takeoff flight path funnel. The funnel extends from the extended
runway centerline along the straight out or along special engine failure route.
