AUTOLAND (Ch 8.7 6.5 Pg471)
Weather conditions at or above the CAT 1 minima can be performed.
Can be considered in the case of pilot incapacitation.
Autoland is currently only permitted to be carried out in SIN.
Not permitted in windshear or turbulent conditions or when braking action is reported to be Poor
Required landing distance for automatic landing is 1.15 times the actual landing distance
Not permitted with one engine inoperative.
The maximum surface wind components for autoland are:
Headwind:25 knots
Tailwind:08 knots
Crosswind:15 knots
Autothrust must be used for automatic landing.
Land ASAP, leave flaps in full down position (on board is desperate).
Landing Perfermance (Ch 8.7 6.2 Pg470)
In-flight landing distance computation should be carried out during the descent preparation phase.
Using either QRH or Airbus LPC performance module. LPC is the preferred means.
An additional factor of 15% safety margin shall be applied to all computed LD with or without failure. In
emergency, Comdr may reduce or disregard this margin.

MEL Application (MEL Pg59; Ch 8.9 Pg488)
When the provisions of the MEL are applied, inoperative items shall be entered in the
Deferred Defect Log Book by a licensed AME at the first available opportunity.
Category A
No standard interval is specified
Category B
Items in this category shall be rectified within three (3) consecutive calendar days,
excluding the day of discovery.
Category C
Items in this category shall be rectified within ten (10) consecutive calendar days,
excluding the day of discovery.
Category D
Items in this category shall be rectified within one hundred and twenty (120) consecutive
calendar days, excluding the day of discovery.
MEL PRESENTATION (MEL Pg100)
A dash - in Column 2 indicates that no repair interval is allowed as the item must be
operative for dispatch.
A dash - in Column 3 or Column 4 indicates a variable quantity.
The Centralized Fault Displayed System (CFDS) indicates the identity of faulty system for
maintenance purpose and is not required for dispatch of the aircraft.
MEL REPAIR INTERVAL EXTENSION (MEL Pg61)
In the event that the rectification of an item with a Category B or C repair interval cannot
be accomplished within the time limits specified in the MEL, an extension of the repair
interval by the same duration as that specified for the category is permitted once only.
The repair interval extension provisions cannot be applied to an item with a Category A or
D repair interval.
MEL HANDLING OF ECAM MAINTENANCE STATUS (MEL Pg65)
Dispatch with a MAINTENANCE message displayed on ECAM STATUS page is allowed
without specific conditions except for the following message:
-- AIR BLEED (refer to MEL 36-00-01).
ONE ENGINE OUT CLIMB PROCEDURE (Ch 8.9 1.5 para6)
Regulatory minimum acceleration height is fixed to 400 feet above the take-off surface.
ONE ENGINE OUT CLIMB PROCEDURE (Ch 8.9 1.5 para7)
The maximum acceleration height ensures that, in the case of engine failure at V1, the
aircraft will be at green dot speed in clean configuration within 10 min at TOGA thrust.
Obstacle Clearance (Ch 8.5 1.7)
1. The minimum acceleration altitude ensures obstacle clearance should an engine failure occur
during takeoff or initial climb-out.
2. The engine failure route to be followed is the straight-out track, except where a special engine
failure route is prescribed.
3. When flying on a SID or other assigned route, which deviates from the straight-out, or the
prescribed engine failure route, as applicable, obstacle clearance is not assured in an engine-out
situation. It is the Commander's responsibility to ensure that a safe flight path is established taking into
account terrain and ATC requirements.
4. The Take-off Performance module of the Less Paper Cockpit (LPC) takes into account all critical
obstacles up to 30 nms in the takeoff flight path funnel. The funnel extends from the extended
runway centerline along the straight out or along special engine failure route.
Overdue / Missing Aircraft and Emergency Alert ( Ch 11.5)
Uncertainty phase (incerfa)
Alert phase (alerfa)
Distress phase (detresfa)
Overweight Landing (Ch 8.7 6.8 Pg474)

(a) Runway is contaminated
(b) Problems associated with landing gear, flight controls or flaps
(c) 1 engine inoperative unless immediate landing is necessary
(d) Thrust reverser(s) inoperative.

Radio Communications (Ch 8.1 2.2 Pg173)
When any pilot is not able to monitor the R/T frequency, e.g. monitoring ATIS, making company calls,
making PA, stepping out of the cockpit, etc, the remaining pilot must use the boom head.
It is alleged that an incident has occurred on this flight threatening the safety or good order and
