St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (E.L.C.A.). It is referred to as
Borchers since Rev. Henry Borchers, who
served our congregation from 1857-1881,
advised and influenced a small group of
pioneer settlers that wanted to establish a
congregation in the area. This year we
celebrate 162 years of life and ministry in this
beautiful country setting in Southern Indiana.
We look forward to many more years of
growth and change as we seek continually to
be faithful to Gods call to mission.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is

offered at the 8:00 a.m. services on the 2nd

and 4th Sundays and at the 10:15 a.m. service on the 1st and the 3rd Sundays of the
month. Christians who believe in the true
presence of Christ in the bread and wine for
our forgiveness and salvation are invited to
receive Holy Communion.

Sunday School classes are held each Sunday for all ages at 9:10 a.m. Visitors are
welcome to attend.
HEARING ASSISTANCE: We have

head phones available for those in need of

assistance with hearing. They are located on
the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.

LEARNING ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE Congregation and community members are invited to join St. Paul's Stephen Ministers as a guest
speaker from Schneck Medical Center gives an
overview of the illness tomorrow at 6:30 PM in
the adult Sunday school area. The speaker will
also give pointers about how to relate best to
individuals in our lives who are affected by Alzheimer's. Information will be offered on available
resources and local support groups, as well as a
question and answer session.
PRAYER SHAWL will meet tomorrow at 7:00
p.m. in the narthex. Come join us!! Any questions, talk to Connie Knoke or Michelle Wood.
KIDS BELLS TEAM 2 will practice at 6:00 p.m.
on April 29th and will be playing at the Confirmation service on May 3. Rememberonly 1 service at 9:00 a.m.
PICTURE DIRECTORYIf you need to sign up,
please do so by going online at www.stpaulborchers.org (click the Church Directory link).
Pictures will be taken on May 6, 7, 8, 9, and 26.
PICNIC GROVE CLEANUPJr High and
Tweeners youth will meet on Friday, May 1 at
5:00 p.m. to clean up the picnic shelter houses
and grounds. Bring buckets, rags, work gloves
and rakes. Wear old tennis shoes and clothes!
KIDS BELLS/PRAISE PARTY will be held on
Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the picnic
grove. If bad weather, we will meet at the
church.

DAYCAMP MEETING will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is for all
counselors and volunteers.
WINGS will meet on May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in one
of the Sunday School rooms. Amelia Shaw is the
hostess.
RUTH CIRCLE will meet on May 7 at 7:30 p.m.
at the home of Linda Guinn. A Bible Study leader
is needed.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL will begin a 6-week
study on the story of the Prodigal Son. We will be
using a video called The Prodigal Son: Finding
Your Place at the Table by Timothy Keller. This
study will start on May 10. All are welcome to
come and learn more about this familiar Bible story.
SENIORS TRIP The seniors group will travel to
Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge for a
presentation about Sandhill cranes by Donna
Stanley on Thursday, May 14th. A driving tour and
a picnic lunch will also be enjoyed by the group. A
carpool will leave the church parking lot at approximately 10:00 and return mid-afternoon. Please
sign up at the Welcome Center so transportation
and complimentary picnic lunch may be planned.
MOVIES & POPCORN "Son of God" will be
shown at St. Paul-Borchers on Friday, May 15 at
7:00 PM and again on Monday, May 18 at 10:00
AM. This highly- acclaimed 2014 movie, rated PG13, tells the life story of Jesus from birth through
crucifixion.The movie was produced by Roma
Downey, well-known for her role in "Touched by
an Angel", and her husband Mark Burnett. (Some
parents may feel the graphic depiction of the crucifixion is not suitable for very young children.)
Feel free to bring sleeping bags, comfy seats, or
pillows to enjoy movies and popcorn in the Fellowship Room. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors!
ALTAR FLOWERSPlease sign up at Welcome
Center to provide altar flowers. You supply your
own flowers, as they are not ordered by the
church.

SYNOD ASSEMBLY DELEGATES NEEDED
Synod Assembly will be June 5-7 in Indianapolis. We need 1 female and 1 male delegate.
Pastor Steve will be unable to attend due to officiating a wedding on June 6. Please talk to Pastor Steve if interested.
GRADUATE RECOGNITIONIf you know of
someone who is graduating from high school or
college, please let the church office know. We
will be recognizing all graduates during worship
on May 31.
