You will have to make up for the smallness of your size by your courage

and selfless devotion to duty, for it is not life that matters, but the courage,
fortitude and determination you bring to it.

True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand
about life, ourselves, and the world around us.

There is no wisdom save in truth. Truth is everlasting, but our ideas about
truth are changeable. Only a little of the first fruits of wisdom, only a few

able to gather.

Quality Participation
This class should be a common learning experience. Therefore, students
are expected to take ownership and initiative for the success of this
class. It is absolutely crucial that students arrive for each class fully
prepared to lead the discussion. They are also expected to be able to
demonstrate their understanding of the relevant administrative issues
and problems in the assigned readings. They must also do the assigned
reading prior to class. Just scanning the material is not enough and the
students are advised to read the material, think about it, take notes, and
so forth. If they miss a class, they will get zero participation
points for that day. On the other hand, attendance alone does
not entitle students to receive 100 per cent credit for in-class
participation. Thus, attendance is a necessary condition for
participation points, but not sufficient.
Group Project
Students are expected to give professional group presentations based
on the assigned cases as well as individual presentations.
A good presentation reflects group work. Therefore, students should not
just divide the work among their group members and then put individual
pieces together, they should make sure that their product reflect truly a
group effort and input. The presentation should be no longer than 15
3

minutes for the entire group. Each group member must participate in
the exercise. Following the group presentation, there will be a 10-minute
Q&A session. Students should make sure that they support their
presentation with creative arguments and applicable answers to the
questions. The syndicate groups will be formed at the beginning of the
semester.
The instructor may assign the groups articles/cases from various
business magazines, journals for class discussion during the semester.
The students will be responsible for getting a copy of the assigned
article/case from the library / copy shop and prepare for class discussion.
