English Essay II
Three major personality types of leaders

Industrial age is long gone. White Collar age with paper work is already over. Technology
age when a developed technology sways the success or failure is about to end. Now, people with
great potential and creativity are the greatest asset of a society. A strong leader is therefore needed
more than ever to control people, the greatest assets. However, not all the leaders have similar
personality types. There are three main types of leaders: inspirational, take-charge, visionary leaders.
The first type of a leader is an inspirational leader. This type of a leader thinks that his or her
most important task is to stir up the morale of team members and encourage them to display their
hidden potential. Even when he or she takes the decision making process, what an inspirational
leader puts the most emphasis on is whether all members of a team can demonstrate their dormant
ability. This type of a leader spends most of his or her business hours listening to opinions and
advices of team members. An inspirational leader wants to get recognized in a team for his or her role
in inspiring the members and enlightening their potential. Providing inspiration to team members
means a lot to this type of a leader.
The second type of a leader is a take-charge leader. This kind of a leader puts the most
importance on controlling a group systematically and ordering duties to team members. Being quick in
decision and doing his ore her tasks with determination are the best quality of a take-charge leader. A
take-charge leaders decision making process is focused on a teams duty and work rather than how
team members would think of the result. Most of his or her office hours are spent ordering tasks to
members and tightening discipline among a team. A take-charge leader wants to receive kudos from
others for his or her contribution in a teams success. Doing a good job in work and bringing out a
good result to a team are important for this kind of a leader.
The third type of a leader is a visionary leader. This kind of a leader thinks achieving a longterm goal is more important than anything. Therefore, immediate gains or losses do not usually affect
a take-charge leader. When this type of a leader needs to make a decision, what he or she considers

the most is whether the decision would affect a teams longtime goal. A visionary leader spends most
of his or her working hours thinking of how to achieve a teams long-range aim. This kind of a leader
wants to get recognized for his or her efforts in getting a team a few steps closer to the achievement
of a long-term goal. A future success of a team is the most important for this type of a leader.
There is no right or wrong leader because each different group needs different types of a
leader; an inspiration leader would be the best for the team that needs motivation, a take-charge
leader would work in perfect harmony with a task-oriented team, and a visionary leader would suit for
the team with strong visions and future goals. However, no matter how good a leader is, it would be
the most important for team members to believe in their leader.
