Robin Hood the Musical Open Air Summer Touring


Casting Actor Singers/Workshop Leaders/ASM, Male and Female
Cambridge Touring Theatre present a spectacular, musical adaptation of the classic, "Robin Hood". Eyecatchingly elaborate costumes, toe-tapping music and larger than life characters promise to capture the
imagination of even the youngest of audiences whilst parents and older visitors will enjoy the writing and
attention to detail of the script and music. The perfect treat for all the family!

Cambridge Touring Theatre is seeking Actor Singers/Workshop Leaders/ASM for 11 rehearsals from MayJune and 53 performances and workshops in June, July and August 2014. Performances are subject to

change until 31 March 2013.


Applicants need to have a strong singing and speaking voice, be able to hold harmonies and dance to a
moderate standard. We enjoy a fantastic working relationship with performers on our projects; all we ask is
that all performers conduct themselves in a diligent and respectful manner during rehearsals and on the road.
Professionalism, a positive attitude and a great work ethic are a must for any performer looking to work with
us.
Actors will take on touring duties and a clean driving license will be essential.
All Transport and accommodation for the tour will be provided by CTT in addition to each artist receiving
3328.00 for the performance and rehearsal period (National Minimum Wage). Drivers will receive an extra
5.00 per day. Some venues will provide a free meal.

Salary is divided into five and paid on the 30 of each month from May September. The final payment is
subject to review based on damage to costumes, set and/or vehicles.
All rehearsals will be in London and Cambridge.
Role:

(Male) Robin Hood, ASM, Workshop Leader

Description: 21-28 Robin is handsome and heroic, a natural leader. He is charismatic and charming but with
twinkle in his eye and a good sense of humour.

Role:

(Female Under 54) Maid Marian, ASM, Workshop Leader

Description: 21-28 Marian is attractive and well balanced. She has great common sense and provides the
love interest in the piece. She will have long hair tied up or down or wear hair extensions if
necessary.

Role:

(Male Comedy) Little John, King Richard, Baron Barry the Balloonist from Bangor,
Henchman, ASM, Workshop Leader

Description: 21-30. This would suit an actor who is comic and who would enjoy working on the comedy in
rehearsal. The Henchmen are dressed as women to infiltrate the camp of Robin Hood and
Baron Barry is a mime artist. There is much comic business, call and response and a lot of

audience participation.

Role:

(Male Comedy) Friar Tuck, Sir Jasper Jellyfish the Juggler from Gillingham, Henchman,
ASM, Workshop Leader

Description: 21-30. This would suit an actor who is comic and who would enjoy working on the comedy in
rehearsal. The Henchmen are dressed as women to infiltrate the camp of Robin Hood and Sir
Jasper is an appalling juggler. There is much comic business, call and response and a lot of
audience participation.
