HORTATORY EXPOSITION

Definition

Hortatory exposition is a type of spoken or written text that is intended to

explain the listeners or readers that something should or should not happen or be
done.

Hortatory exposition text can be found in scientific books, journals, magazines,

newspaper articles, academic speech or lectures, research report etc.

Hortatory expositions are popular among science, academic community and

educated people.

To strengthen the explanation, the speaker or writer needs some arguments as

the fundamental reasons of the given idea. In other words, this kind of text can be
called as argumentation.
Purpose:
To persuade the readers that something should or should not be the case or be done.
Generic Structure:

Thesis : Statement or announcement of issue concern

Then what is the basic difference between analytical and hortatory exposition?
In simple word. Analytical is the answer of How is/will while hortatory is the answer
of How should. Analytical exposition will be best to describe How will student do for
his examination? The point is the important thing to do. But for the question How
should student do for his exam? will be good to be answered with hortatory. It is to
convince that the thing should be done.

Final Examination Should Not be Held

In the fact, the Final / National Examination is an more important
to decide students
graduation,
to
follow
the further education. National
examination be a problem every year, every human talking about it, because there are
some things that are considered unfair. In my opinion the final examination should not
be held because there are some things that cause the national examination has
wedge feels.
Among the things that cause national examination should not be held is:
First, the essence of education more deviate. Because it seems that a long
process of evaluation and assessment of students in the 3 (three) years, has no
significance in determining the graduation of students, and only defeated by the final
examination are only carried out in a matter of days (3-5 days). Schools and educators,
who played a major role in educating their original students in the knowledge, ethics
and morals, but now inclined to teach how to pass the examination. It has led to a
paradigm shift in accordance education mandated by the Constitution of 1945 is the
intellectual life of the nation.
Second, State can be a disadvantage, because control of the test not done
intensively, especially

With some of the fact above, I think the government should not have held the
national exam. Criteria of student graduation should be determined by the teacher /
school achievement by including a factor for 3 years + ethics / morality, without a
national examination.

Should not Bring Mobile Phone to School

Recently most people own mobile phone. Why does mobile phone
user increase dramatically in recent years? First, the feature and functions has
increased. Mobile phone is not used just for calling, but sending text, taking
pictures, recording videos, accessing internet, playing games and much more.
Second, mobile phone has also become a lot cheaper. Now this communication
device does not only fill the pocket of adult but also teenager and student. Even
a lot phones are intentionally designed to teenaged market. However should they
be allowed to bring them to school?
Many schools do not allow students to bring cell phones to school. It is
very reasonable because bringing phone toschool potentially disrupts the
learning process. Moststudents use cell phones irresponsibly. They use cell
phones to talk to their friend during class time. They also use the calculator and
camera features in the class as well. Those potentially lead less concentration in
the time of learning and teaching process.
Students go to school to learn and behave fair way. Mobile phones provide
a large temptation to cheat in tests. They can communicate to anyone and
almost anywhere in the world. Because of the small size of the cell
phone, students can send a text quietly and discreetly. The text can go
unnoticed anywhere to get help on answering tests, homework, and other class
assignment. Learning in school is to behave fair not cheating.
Therefore, schools should ban students from bringing their cell phones.
However it should be done fairly. In case of an emergency some student need a
call for help, providing easy access to phone is better.

Lets Make City Clean and Fresh

A clean and fresh city will surely make the inhabitantshealthy. Every
morningespecially in dry season, all roads must be watered with clean water and
swept by the workers of the regionalgovernment under the Majors instruction.
To keep the people from heavy pollution caused by cars, trucks
andmotorcycles, enough trees must be planted along all roads. Every building or
house in the city must be surrounded short and small trees which bear colorful
flower.
Bad and improper habits which cause disadvantages, bad smell and

smoking
and
throwing
rubbish anywhere should
be
stopped
at
once.
The major of each city will have to think over the way how to educate people, so
that they realize on how important cleanliness and health are for their own
sake. Building more public lavatories at every busy place is very badly needed.
It will be wise if the Major decides a certain amount of fine to be paid by
those who disobey the government regulation on cleanliness matter. A man who
urinate not at lavatory, smoke not at smoking room or throw rubbish at the
roads should be fined for instance. Besides dirtying the environment with
cigarettes butts, smoking will also cause pollution and lungs disease to other
people.
So bad habits and impolite attitude should be immediately stopped,
otherwise the city will be dirty, unhealthy badly polluted and will never attract
foreign or domestic tourist.
