prioritize the development of
drainage
improvement

reduce
the
serious flooding in several
areas. The drainage areas of
consideration which contributes
flooding in the project areas are
1) Buntala Creek; (2) Mansaya
Creek; (3) Dungon Creek; (4)
Calajunan Creek.
As per findings of the DPWH
Inspectorate
Teams,
some
bridges have high seismic
vulnerability rating and maybe
heavily damaged or collapse in
the
event
of
a
major
earthquake.
The
recent
destructive
earthquakes
in
nearby countries could be
expected anytime to occur in
Metro Manila due to movement
of West Valley Fault Line which
according
PHIVOLCS
can
generate a magnitude of 7.2
earthquake. Hence there is
urgent need for the early
completion of the seismic
retrofitting
works.
