ProLINK enables you to convert files to different file formats that can be used with
various software programs, such as CAD packages. You can import and export files
from both the Field Book Editor and the Reduced Coordinates View. Conversions are
available whenever you select the Import or Export or the Send and Receive options
from the File menu.
For example, when you select Import from the File menu, the conversions will be
available in the Import Conversions field.
3UR/,1.&2006
,PSRUW&RQYHUVLRQV
The Import Conversions available in the Import and Receive dialogs are listed below
with a description of the type of file that uses the conversion. Make sure to select the
conversion that matches the external format.
* Note: Files can be imported only to a field book in the Field Book Editor. You
cannot import files directly to the Reduced Coordinates View.
This conversion converts any file from a device that uses the SDR
format for data. ProLINK automatically reads the file to determine
whether the file is in SDR33 or SDR20 format and imports the file
to the proper ProLINK records. Devices that use this conversion
are:
SDR Electronic Field Book
POWERSET Total Station (Internal memory and SDC memory
card)
SET 100 Series Total Station
SET5F/SET5W Total Stations.
This conversion will allow the SCR format to be imported into the
Field Book. The data can be imported directly from the card, using
the Receive option and select the SCR format. This conversion can
also be used for importing files that already exist on the PC.
The data files, in this format, cannot be received directly from the
SET Total Station but if a file exists on the hard drive of the computer it can be imported into the field book with this conversion.
SET6F/Field Book
(*.SET)
The data files cannot be received directly from the SET Total Station but if a file exists on the hard drive of the computer it can be
imported into the field book with this conversion.
SETBII/SETE/Field
Book (*.SET)
The data files cannot be received directly from the SET Total Station, but if a file exists on the computers hard drive it can be
imported into the field book with this conversion.
3UR/,1.&2006
Also included are formats for importing a generic coordinate ASCII file into the field
book. Select the Import Conversion that matches the coordinate order and the
delimited format of your ASCII file.

The Export Conversions available in the Export and Send dialogs are listed below
with a description of the type of file that uses the conversion. Make sure to select the
conversion that is specific to the external format.
This conversion creates a file in the SDR format when using a 4-digit
numeric point number. ProLINK will export the job settings into the
SDR header record, some field lengths may be truncated during the
export process.
This conversion creates a file in the SDR format when using a 14digit alphanumeric point name. ProLINK will export the job settings
into the SDR header record, some field lengths may be truncated
during the export process.
This conversion will allow the SCR format to be exported from the
Field Book. The data can be exported directly to the card, using the
Send option and select the SCR format. This conversion will only
export coordinates, POS records, from the Field Book.
Alpha 14 to Numeric
4
This conversion exports field Book data with large point numbers to
point numbers with 4 digits by using the last four digits, reading left
to right. This conversion is useful for converting SET5F/5W point
numbers to SDR20 numeric 4 format.
SET5F/SET5W
(*.SET)
This conversion creates a file in the native format that can be sent to
the SET5F/SET5W total station.
SET6F (*.SET)
This conversion creates a file in the native format that can be sent to
the SET6F total station.

This conversion creates a file in the native format that can be sent to
the SETBII/SETE total station.
Also included are formats for exporting a generic coordinate ASCII file from the field
book. Select the Export Conversion that matches the coordinate order and the
delimited format you wish in your ASCII file.
