PeopleAdmin is a private company that develops Talent Management solutions specifically designed for Higher
Education and Government. Its web-based (SaaS) technology enables organizations to automate and streamline
the hiring process. Vista Equity acquired the company in 2014.
Director of Information Technology
Recruited to lead a team of professionals. Oversaw all IT operations and IT security for the company, including
servers, datacenters, phone systems (SHORTEL VOIP), laptops (Apple and Windows), and desktops. Provided
leadership and vision for the IT department including strategic planning of information systems.
Developed the strategic direction for the IT systems, including technology deployment plans and departmental
budgets. Directed all IT and network system deployment and maintenance, including infrastructure, wireless
communications, PC systems, local networks and mobile environment. Managed training for IT team and end
users on software and laptop/desktop systems. Wrote operational policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and
best practices.
Datacenter Management
Designed, purchased, and built Canadian 5.8 infrastructure. Installed a new data center and moved
applications from old data center in Canada. Decommissioned old data center and secured/destroyed
sensitive data. Managed the $80,000 project that lasted 5 months onsite in Canada.

Designed and built new Canadian 7.0 infrastructure and integrated with current 5.8 backbone.

Persuaded Rackspace (vendor) to provide support and management on F5 on a non-Rackspace owned


datacenter for the first time to support the PA7 Product.

Managed the companys SaaS datacenter (SunGard) that housed 100% of companys intellectual property
and customer data. Over a period of 5-years, continuously improved backbone, power, visualization
(VMWARE), hardware, and hardware consolidation to reduce footprint. Coordinated with SunGard, Pier1
and Rackspace to provide a seamless, safe, and secure experience for users.

Internal IT Management
Developed a hardware solution to image laptops and desktops; refreshed all machines in 2010 using the
method for more than 40 Desktops and 45 Laptops.

Migrated entire company from internal exchange server to external hosted exchange (THOUGHTBUS) and
in 2014 moved entire company again from THOUGHTBUS to SHERWEB hosted service.

Wrote a Ruby app to maintain a policy for customer deletion of data, which worked with company case
management system (ZENDESK).

Wrote a monitoring program, which tracked all company websites and gave statistics/status on availability
and tracked the process between the Legacy system and a new SaaS platform.
Designed and implemented a production environment with failover capabilities and disaster recovery plans
that delivered 99.998% uptime.
Developed in-house custom software for monitoring of all company SaaS websites.

Client Facing Work


Managed/acquired all computers and equipment needed for company client conferencing.
o Added an enhanced phone system that enabled the services team to be onsite and manage service-related
calls via VPN back into our network. Worked with marketing VP to ensure all content was in place and
ready to go in real time for 5 annual conferences.

Designed and managed the entire SSL certification life cycle from inception to proper placement of
enterprise tools/products. (Certifications, keys, etc.)

Worked with a vendor to create a process that reduced the approval process from two weeks to two hours
and allowed PeopleAdmin to approve SSL on the customers behalf.

UPLOGIX, INC., Austin, TX

Uplogix is a venture-backed network independent management platform that is located with, and directly
connected to, managed devices. It can stand alone or augment existing centralized management tools providing
the configuration, performance, and security management automation functions that are best performed locally.
Operations Manager & IT Manager
Recruited by the CEO to a newly created role in a rapidly growing start-up. Managed all company operating
systems, oversaw computer and network testing laboratories, and managed all communication systems (email,
phone, intranet, WebEx). Installed Uplogixs proprietary platform on Enterprise Servers before shipment to
clients.
Notable contributions:
Oversaw a 3-4 month relocation project, including building office space and four hardware and software
testing labs. Built racks and managed the burn-in testing for the companys flagship products.

Built and tested a prototype model of a unique satellite modem that could run the companys products.

Traveled to client sites (oil rigs) to install modems to run Uplogix software.

Drake Industries was a private company that developed, manufactured, and sold custom labels, decals,
nameplates, and overlays to the aerospace, industrial, academic, high-tech, OEM, defense and export markets.
Clients included Dell, Honeywell, NASA, DOD, IBM, and National Instruments.
President
Led the company, built ERP and sales automation systems for the company and developed, designed, and
installed entire IT system consisting of over 20 Windows and Novell servers with 14 work stations and VPN
capabilities. Managed all aspects of the company including P&L, staff management, and business development.
Notable contributions:
Increased revenue from $75,000 to over $3.9 million in 10 years.

Managed Dell accounts in the US, Mexico, Ireland, and China to resolve issues in quality and logistics.
