MET-ONLINE: Programme objectives

The purpose of this programme is to help prepare you for the API RP
580 'Risk-Based-Inspection' supplementary ICP certificate
examination. It is an online-only training programme with extensive
learning modules and practice tests

Entry requirements
Entry to the API RP 580 ICP examination has now been relaxed;
candidates no longer need a previous API ICP Certificate (510, 570 or
653). Anyone who can meet the general entry criteria can therefore
take the examination. API exams are not easy, however; API 580 is a
short document but quite complex in places.
This training programme will help you understand the principles and
details of API 580 RBI and how they fit in with the periodicity and
scope of in-service inspections

The MET-ONLINE programme

The online-only programme is similar to the combined
online/residential programmes that we run for API 510/570/653,
achieving a 90%+ first-time pass rate. It has been adapted to the
tighter scope of the API RP 580 Body of Knowledge, incorporating
more closely-worded examples and tests to fit the approach of this
supplementary ICP examination format.
Approximate work time: 30 40 hours
Open format: 8 sub-modules and mock examinations

API examination

UK locations in
Manchester and London

The API examination consists of multiple choice questions,

all of which have to be answered closed book, with a pass
mark of 70%. Delegates register directly with API for the
examination.

Documentation
Delegates require a copy of API RP 580:2009 to participate
in this programme. No other API documents are required.
