Kisan Vikas Patra scheme


Union Government re-launched Kisan Vikas Patra scheme (KVP) in New Delhi to encourage the habit
of small savings among the citizens. The scheme will soon be made available through designated
branches of nationalized banks across the country.
The KVP will be available to the investors in the denomination of 1000, 5000, 10000 and 50000
rupees with no upper ceiling on investment.
Key Points :
Amount Invested doubles in 100 months (8 years & 4 months)
Available in denominations of Rs 1,000, 5000, 10,000 and Rs 50,000. Minimum deposit Rs 1000/and no maximum limit.
Certificate can be purchased by an adult for himself or on behalf of a minor or by two adults.
KVP can be purchased from any Departmental Post office.
Facility of nomination is available.
Certificate can be transferred from one person to another and from one post office to another.
Certificate can be encashed after 2 & 1/2 years from the date of issue.

Highlights Of UP Budget 2015-2016


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav presented Rs 3.02 lakh crore annual budget of
state on 24 February 2015. In annual budget state government has given main thrust on
agriculture, education, power, health, roads and infrastructure development.
The budget also contains the fiscal deficit of 2.96% of the total GDP of the state. Whereas
the states debt is expected to be around 27.5% of its GDP. Current Affairs
Taxes: For 2015-16 no new taxes have been levied in the budget.
Agriculture: State government has declared year 2015-16 as the Farmers year. In this
regard 1000 Agri centrs will be established to promote agriculture as a good mean of

Government Schemes: State government has included new schemes of over Rs 9388 crores
in the budget. For farmers accident insurance scheme, Rs 600 crores have been allocated.
