INTRODUO
A sobrevida da populao mundial tem aumentado globalmente
nas ltimas dcadas. Este aumento da longevidade associado ao estilo de vida mais ativo dos idosos, da atualidade e
as comorbidades presentes nesta populao como reduo
da fora muscular, do equilbrio, dos reflexos e da densidade
mineral ssea, resultando em osteopenia e osteoporose, tem
levado ao aumento dos casos de trauma e consequentemente
fraturas na populao geritrica.1 Estas fraturas so a principal
causa de deficincia, comprometimento funcional e morte em
pessoas idosas.2
As fraturas proximais do fmur so comuns nesta faixa etria,
destacam-se entre elas as intracapsulares (do colo do fmur) e
extracapsulares (transtrocantricas e subtrocantricas).2
H estudos que citam que aps seis meses de uma fratura
proximal do fmur, menos da metade dos indivduos recuperam a funo fsica que apresentavam antes da fratura. 3
Limitaes de mobilidade so muito comuns e podem ser
parcialmente relacionadas falta de fora e potncia muscular. A perna fraturada pode ser 20% mais fraca do que a no
fraturada entre 3 a 36 meses.4
O tratamento preconizado para esses pacientes, atualmente, de
preferncia o cirrgico, com colocao de material de osteossntese, por gerar estabilidade e um retorno funcional mais precoce,
de forma que o idoso no fique acamado por longo perodo de
tempo, agravando seu estado de sade, podendo lev-lo a um
declnio funcional severo e at a morte.5
Dentre os materiais de osteossntese disponveis para a abordagem cirrgica destas fraturas tm-se as hastes cefalomedulares,
placa e parafuso deslizante e prteses do quadril.5,6
Aps a fixao da fratura a fisioterapia se torna de extrema importncia para estes pacientes, visando mobilizao precoce,
o treino de marcha e outros mtodos de tratamento para manter
ou restaurar possveis dficits.7
Portanto, este estudo tem como objetivo realizar uma reviso sistemtica da literatura sobre protocolos de tratamento fisioteraputico aps fraturas proximais de fmur tratadas cirurgicamente em
pacientes idosos.
MATERIAIS E MTODOS
O mtodo utilizado foi uma reviso sistemtica da literatura. Para a
busca utilizou-se as bases de dados Medline e Pubmed. As palavras chaves tiveram como referncia os descritores do DECs nos
