Description: A web page designed to show off an original logo

created for a company.

.............................

web
pa

Programs used: Notepad++, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Objective: Create an original logo and write content to describe

the process of creating your logo and how it appeals to a target
audience. Use HTML and CSS and various tags to create a web page
with content about the logo.
Process: The logo was created first for an existing company seeking
a new logo. The pen and shape tools in Illustrator were used to draw
the various shapes and images that are in the logo. Notepad++ was
used to write the HTML and CSS code to create the website. The
website includes unordered lists, headers, paragraphs and more.
Each of the elements in the HTML are linked to a CSS style sheet
where each element is designed.

logos

Description: Three different logos created for the same company,

with different color schemes and styles.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
Objective: Create three completely different, original logos for a
company that will appeal to the appropriate audience.

Process: To create these Logos I first considered the company

that they would be portraying and formulated a plan of how to
communicate the message they would want. Next, I used Illustrator
to do some quick sketches of possible logos. I used the pen tool
to trace images. I used the basic tools in Illustrator including the
eyedropper to match colors, and typography features to play around
with the shape and intensity of the text in my images. I then worked
on unifying and simplifying my images so that they were more easily
understood and visually appealing.

broch

Description: A original logo creation implemented into a brochure

to display the logo and other information pertaining to the company.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
Objective: Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.
Create an original, new logo and use it in the brochure.
Incorporate quality images, one being clipped in Photoshop and
text-wrapped in InDesign. Trim for a full bleed and print in duplex
(two-sided) color.
Process: I began by creating the logo in Illustrator. I used the line
tool to draw the hands and the circle tool to create nails. I used the
smoothing tool to make the hands look more natural with creases.
Next, I designed the tri-fold brochure layout. In Photoshop I used
the quick selection tool to clip the image I wanted my text to be
wrapped around. I placed color boxes and photos in the InDesign file
to emphasize different parts of my brochure.

Description: An original logo created for a company and then an

original business card creation.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator

Objective: Use a newly created original logo to design consistent

layouts for a business card.
Process: I used Illustrator to design the logo. I used various tools in
Illustrator including the shape tools, the transformation tools, and
the eye dropper to get the exact colors and sized shapes to create
the logo. I also used the shape tool to create the border around
the entire card. I had to decide where to use each color in from my
scheme throughout the card. I chose to highlight the most important
information (name, phone, email etc.) with a darker color.

Process: I used Illustrator to design the logo and InDesign to put
together the stationery. I used the color scheme from the logo
throughout the card. I chose to highlight the most important
information (name, phone, email etc.) with the darkest colors from

created from illustrator and to create a coherent look. I created a
border around the entire page to create gestalt and to bring all the
elements together.

flier

Description: A black and white flier for a leadership conference for

recent and upcoming college graduates.
Programs used: Adobe InDesign

Objective: Apply and use appropriate typography and design

principles to create a flier in InDesign. Create a project folder with
image, logo and InDesign document to keep links in InDesign intact.
Process: I began this process by drawing four different sketches of
how the flier might be designed. After reviewing the sketches with a
few peers I selected one, and began the design process in InDesign.
I created boxes, and text in various shapes and alignment to create
visual appeal. My design was originally right aligned, but is now left
aligned which provided a more readability. I also adjusted the gray
colors various times so that the flier is not too dark.

mont

Description: This is a design of a Montage of two images blended

together using to create a spiritual message.
Programs used: Adobe Photoshop

Objective: Unify a layout with a consistent theme and a dominant

spiritual message. Blend two images together gradually, using masks.
Use a mask to apply a filter to one part of the image
Process: This process began by thinking about what type of
message I wanted to achieve. In Photoshop I placed different images
I found and used a mask to blend them together. After flipping the
images and changing the opacity and coloring I was ready to put the
wording on the page. I wanted the text to stand out, but not take
over the image. I wanted the word His to stand out as the focus of
the text, so I made it larger and played around with different fonts
and ultimately decided to use a script font with an overlap of the text
above and below it.

event

Objective: Find, scan and import a high-quality image.

Create a full-bleed design for a charity event in Microsoft Word.
Process: I began by finding the images of children books that
convey a feeling of love and happiness and also had the color
scheme I was looking for. I scanned the images and cropped them
to show only the cover. I inserted text boxes and shapes in Word
and added background textures and colors. I created a slightly
transparent box to show the texture under the body copy.

photo

Programs used: Adobe Photoshop

Objective: Choose a color scheme, take a photo to match those
colors, then incorporate the colors into the layout. Adjust image
levels, saturation, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layers for
NDE (non-destructive editing.) Create a full-bleed layout.
Process: I began by taking multiple pictures around my house and
outside with the intent of using a monochrome color scheme to
create a poster. I created a layout with repetitive lines and a large
amount of white space for clarity. I chose to use fonts that were sans
serif for clear readability. I incorporated the color gradient into the
text as I have in the boxes on the bottom of the page to help give the
piece gestalt and repetition.
