Vastu For Windows And Doors

1. The main door of a residence must be bigger than any other door in the house. Also, it
must be more beautiful compared to the others. This helps bring in luck and prosperity.
2. According to vastu for house structure, a house must at all times have even numbers of
windows and doors (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, etc).
3. When fixing the windows and doors, it is important to keep cross-ventilation in mind.
Also, its essential to fix windows and doors opposite to one another to allow more light
and air to enter.
4. Doors must never be placed at the center of a wall.
5. South facing houses must have north facing entrances so that they fall at the eastern half.
6. North facing houses must have north facing entrances so that they fall at the eastern half
of the side.
7. West facing houses must have their entrance towards West, to make sure the main door
falls at the Northern half of the side.
8. The entrance for east facing houses must be fixed towards East, to make sure the main
door falls towards the Northern half of the side.
9. The main gates of two houses facing each other must never open towards each other.
Doors such as these are very inauspicious.
10. Teak is the best wood for making doors and windows.
11. Square or uneven furnishing articles must be avoided.
12. All the windows must have symmetry and must be proportionate in height.
13. There must be absolutely no obstruction, such as plants, Temple, staircases, and the like,
in front of the main entrance.
14. Doorway constructed at the eastern direction is very auspicious. However, you can also
construct entrances in the western and northern side. An entry in the southern direction is
not suitable.

Vastu For Over Head Tank:

A tank located in the southwestern direction must be at least 2 feet or 60 cm over the slab.
This is to make sure there isnt any water leakage leading to moisture production (dampness in
the south-west corner is highly inauspicious).
Although northeast belongs to the water element, it is not good to place a hefty overhead
tank in this region. Experts of vastu for house and office believe its a bad omen to make this
corner heavy. However, it is okay to place a small tank here.
Placing a tank in the south-eastern corner is inauspicious and may lead to loss in finances
and proneness to dangerous accidents.
An overhead tank in south has medium effect. However, you should make sure that the
container is 2 feet above the roof slab and does not leak.
If you plan on installing a solar geyser its best to place it above the overhead tank to
make sure water flows properly.

A tank located in the west side (but not southwest) is extremely beneficial because this
direction belongs to the Lord Of Rains. This location does not necessitate placing the tank over a
slab.
Never place an overhead tank in the north-west. However, it is okay if the container is
small and is located at a place minimum 2 feet from north-west.
The overhead tank should never be placed in the middle. This area is the Bramhasthan
and if the Brahma is loaded, life of the inmates can become miserable.
Avoid using tanks made of plastic. However, if you plan to get one its best to choose it in
colors such as blue or black since dark colors tend to absorb sunrays. And sunlight has the power
to create positive energies.
Its advisable to keep different tanks for different utilities. There should be a separate tank
for cooking and drinking. Also, water for bathrooms and toilets should come from a different
container.

Vastu for Septic Tank

Septic tank must never face north east, south-east, or south west corner.
It should not directly touch the compound wall. In fact the tank must be at least two feet
away from the wall.
If there is a scarcity of space, the tank must be in the northern corner of west. However,
make sure that the tank is at least two feet away from the wall of your compound.
As per vastu for septic tank, the length of the tank must be in the east-west, while the
breadth should be in the south-north.
Never construct the tank higher than the level of the house. Best is to build it at the
ground floor.
The outlet of such tanks must be in the west or north.
If we divide the northern side in nine parts, the tank must fall in the third part from northwest.
The septic tank has three parts. Preferably, water must be in the eastern part and the outlet
for excretion must be in the west.

Vastu For Staircase

Correct Direction: A staircase must always be built in the western or southern

part of the house. Make sure its not constructed in the northeast corner, as

that could lead to financial losses for the owner. In fact, staircase in any
corner except west or south brings losses.

An external staircase can be built in the southeast direction facing east, southwest
direction facing west, northwest direction facing north, and southwest direction facing south.
Always begin your stairs from north to south or east to west. A turn can also be taken to
other sides, in case there is a lack of space.
Stairs must always have an odd number and the number must never end with a zero.
The vertical set of stairs should also have an odd number and when divided by three their
remnant must be two.
Never make circular staircases as they have the ability to cause bad health. Also, a
staircase encircling the building can lead to severe calamites.
The room which has a staircase in the southwest corner of a basement is not auspicious.
As per vastu, people living in a room such as this experience high blood pressure, undiagnosed
diseases, anemia and the like.
Construct doors at the end and beginning of each staircase. Also, its important to make
sure the stairs dont touch the northern or eastern walls.
Try constructing staircases in such a way that stairs are not openly visible to the visitors.
Directly visible stairs are thought to be inauspicious.
Broken stairs must be repaired instantly, as they may lead to tensions and accidents.
Rooms such as bathroom, kitchen, or pooja room should never be built under a staircase.
This area can only be used for creating a storage room.
If a linear staircase is constructed, it must begin from north to south or east to west
(inside or outside the house). Later, it can take any direction.
Staircases must always be painted in light colors and shades such as red and black should
be avoided completely.

Still better, if you set up your cooking corner in the east.

your pooja room? Especially if you love to hang out with prosperity, happiness, inner

2. Do you own a big plot of land? In case you do, then assign the center of your ground
floor to your deities.
3. Arrange for proper ventilation and a threshold, if you wish to elicit a positive
response from the deities.

Vastu For House Structure

The picture 1.1 depicts a wrongly constructed house. This kind of construction has the ability to
degrade the owners prestige, bring in financial problems, lead to health defects, stress, and much
more. The problem with this structure is it is built in the north east direction within the
Compound wall. Such orientations are not auspicious.

This direction is called Southeast or Agni. A house constructed at this corner (within the
compound premises) is inhabitable for humans. It will bring in losses, failures, stress, financial

The Northwest corner is also known as Vayavya or Vayu. This particular direction has the
capability to make a man really RICH or very POOR according to the usage. This particular
picture shows wrong usage of the northwest direction. A house built like this will lead to mental
torture, pain, family problems, disputes, and a life time of unhappiness. Never construct a house
such as this.

This is the right kind of construction. It helps the positive energies flow and bring-in prosperity.
Residents of such houses will always be happy, successful and abundant. Houses in such
directions attract a lot of money.

The very first brick of a foundation must be laid in the eastern or northern
part of the house.
When digging the plot one must never start from the west, south or
southwest direction.

The very first room has to be constructed at southwest side.

Construction of houses on a square or rectangular plot is extremely important and

excellent from every aspect. However, if one opts for a rectangular shape, the proportion
of the sides must never be more than two ratio one.

Bigger sized plots are more favorable, as they tend to bring wealth. But they must not
contain cleavages, or cracks.

The house must always be open from every side, this means it must never be contiguous
to any other building (two houses must never have a common wall). Also, a house must
never be crammed between two houses.

Plots with triangular shapes are extremely inauspicious.

A small plot sandwiched between two bigger plots is inauspicious, and the owner of such
a plot can undergo a lot of problem.
