#uwiserved March Veteran of the Month: Brandon Ray

Congratulations to the #uwiserved Veteran of the Month, Brandon Ray.
Brandon is a 7 year Navy veteran who has been a Navy reservist for 2 years.
While in the Navy, Brandon served as a Submarine officer. Brandon is now a
graduate student in the Atmospheric Science Department and serves as the
GPSS representative for the Husky United Military Veterans. Brandon serves
on the Diversity Committee for both GPSS and Husky United Military
Veterans. In his role as GPSS representative, Brandon has introduced and
passed legislation that will urge the University of Washington to develop
on-site childcare centers and support childcare access. Brandon is also
working with the Center for Teaching and Learning to develop a veteran
specific graduate student orientation that will serve as a model for other
departments to introduce new student veterans to the services that are
available to them on campus. The veteran community is impacted by
Brandons continued service and support of student veterans on campus.
Thank you Brandon!
