Germany for CTL technology. Commissioning is expected to begin July 2013, using low-quality, high-ash coal,
the variety that abounds in India, to produce 5.7 million standard cubic metre per day of gas. JSPL had hoped
to begin construction in 2014; however, they have not yet been granted a license to remove coal from the
Ramchandi coal block that had been allocated to the CTL project. The coal block has been de-allocated to the
project following a lack of progress by the company to obtain a prospecting license. Following the de-allocation
of the coal block, JSPL announced that they had scrapped plans for the CTL project. JSPL chairman Naveen
Jindal stated "The CTL project was linked with the coal block. If the coal block is gone, then the project is gone."

CTL and power generation. In May 2014, Altona was informed by Sino-Aus and Wintask that they were ready to
enter into discussions about a joint venture for the Arckaringa Project. In November 2014, Alton, Sino-Aus, and
Wintask signed a joint venture agreement. Under the agreement, Sino-Aus and Wintask will provide AUD$33
million to the project. Altona was also notified by the South Australian government that the company's
application for a renewed Program for Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation had been approved. Altona
is still awaiting an extention on its Water Affecting Activity Permit.
