Job Description:

spare parts, chemicals
being Head of Purchase Dept for one of the largest
Multimedia DVDR/CDR manufacturing Factory of the world.
Daily excessive business correspondence/ follow ups of orders with various
international suppliers of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, India &
Europe, negotiating best prices ,finalizing the orders and ensuring the these
materials imported on time without effecting Factorys production.
Establishing LCs through banks after confirmation of orders, checking LCs clauses
for clean negotiations with the banks to avoid delay in payments & shipments.
Rectifying LCs problems /discrepancies through banks, clients & suppliers.
Final checking of Exports documentation ensuring to be made as per LCs to avoid
discrepancies which resulted into late payments from the buyers / banks.
Monitoring daily reports, status of procurement through material reportage system
files and update to M.D. Besides update Factory on daily basis the raw materials,
parts and chemicals( Dangerous / non dangerous) being shipped or to be shipped
with exact ETA/ETD from shipping lines so that to plan which orders to put on
production line in the Factory based on arrival of goods.
Coordinate with shipping agents/lines for Sea/Air shipments of imports/Exports
consignments on time clearance from the ports to avoid production loss at the
Factory.
Negotiate with shipping agents/lines for best freight SEA/AIR rates for each
consignment. Also keep searching for new suppliers & good shipping agents for best
competitive prices & SEA/AIR freights.
Makes recommendations to delivery strategy in response to cost analyses, works to
reduce overall shipping costs.
Monitors the logistics activities, identifying improvement opportunities in operations
& costs and implementing successful changes in policies or procedures.
Supports the formulation of the companys overall distribution strategy; prepares
shipping costs analyses and provides recommendations in order to improve overall
cost; in coordination with other supply chain functions, implementations distribution
strategy for efficient product distribution.
