1. Saturn is lord of 11th and 12th houses, and resides in the 3rd house.

house and 12th house. Mars, lord of 2nd and 9th house, is aspected by Saturn. Jupiter the

EC # 2: Deciphering Lord Rama's Birth Chart

Prologue:
First and foremost, I, Sastry Karra, would like to let all the readers know that I am a godfearing
Hindu Brahmin, performing religious rituals as, and when needed, as well as doing religious prayers at home
and visiting Hindu temples. Above all, I trust in GOD and have full faith in GOD.
Having said that, my only intention in writing this article is for astrological learning or analysis
purposes.
In this article, I tried to find the astrological reasoning for the three (3) important events that
occurred in the life of Lord Rama before he turned 25 years old. These events are viz.

Birth Details:
Lord Rama is the 6th incarnation (Avatar) of Lord Vishnu. This avatar is the first fullfledged
human form. For any human born on this earth, the astrological birth chart is possible to create.
According to Sage Valmikis classical mythological text, he annotated the birth of Lord Rama as
follows:

Thus, astrologically speaking, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are in exalted positions
and Moon is in Cancer.
Also, since the ruling star is Punarvasu, at the time of birth, the balance of Jupiter Period
(Mahadasa) will be either one (1) day, which is minimum, or Four (4) years, which is maximum. The next
Mahadasa will be of Saturn for 19 years. Thus, the possibility of Saturn Mahadasa will be either from
second day after his birth or the day after his fourth birthday.
In this article, with the two possibilities of Saturns mahadasa, we analyzed the birth chart.
Since Mercury is always close to Sun, it is assumed to be in Aries(Mesha) zodiac sign.

Thus, Mars (lord of 5th and 10th houses), Moon (lord of 1st house) and Sun (lord of 2nd
house), are residing in an unfavorable position. Mercury is lord of 3rd and 12th houses and Venus is lord of

Existence of Balarishta (Death before age 13):
Before we even look in detail of any native chart, the basic principle is to validate the important
Balarishta Rules.
Balarishta in Hindu astrology is one of the three basic Arishtas that can cause early death.
These Arishtas are indicated by certain specific planetary situations, combinations or associations present at
the time of birth, at the time of query or at a particular muhurta or happening as are revealed by the Natal
Chart or the Query Chart or the Muhurta Chart. It is a Dosha.

Even though we are all aware that Lord Rama was alive for more than 13 years, these

Balarishta Rule # 1:
Planet in 9th House is: Venus, who is a malefic and is residing in 9th house. Benefic Jupiters
9th aspect is on Venus. NO MALEFIC PLANET ASPECT NO BALARISHTA DOSHA.
Moon is waxing, therefore NOT a Malefic Planet and is conjunct with benefic Jupiter NO

Before we look for the possibility of the native to get married, it is advised to check for any
Kuja/Manglik Doshas.
Kuja Dosha Rule 1 :

Exception 1:
Mars resides in Capricorn in the 7th house. Thus, for Lord Rama, KUJA DOSHA DOES NOT

Exception 2:
Since the Lagna is: Kataka (Cancer), Mars is a yogakaraka (a beneficial influence). KUJA
DOSHA DOES NOT EXIST.
In conclusion, Kuja Dosha DOES NOT EXIST for Lord Rama.

Existence of Various Yogas:
Now that we have confirmed that the Lord Rama does not have any of the Three Important
Balarishta Conditions, we will check for presence of different Yogas.
The following rules are for Raja Yogas, which will make the native very famous. These are found in Lord
Rama's Birth Chart.

Because of so many Raja Yogas, Lord Rama had a luxurious life until he was 25 years old. Thus, the impact
of these Raja Yogas are NOT for the whole life.
Dosha pertaining to Lord Ramas Marital Life :
VILASA HANI DOSHA:

Mars, being lord of 5th and 10th house and residing in a unfavourable position, in house owned
by Saturn, native grieved on account of his wife.
Please note that the lack of having children during the first twelve (12) years of married life is
partly due to this dosha.
Vimsottari Dasa:
At the time of birth, according to Sage Valmiki, Jupiter is in Punarvasu Nakshatra/Star. Hence,
the balance period of Jupiter Mahadasa is between 1 day and 4 years.
If the balance of Jupiter period at the time of birth is 1 day, then Saturn mahadasa begins the
next day. Based on the classical texts, Lord Rama had a very delightful and affectionate babylife. Hence, the

According to Valmiki Ramayana, Lord Rama was 12 and Sita was 6 at the time of marriage.
From a different point in the story, we are told that Rama was 24 years old when he left for the forest, and that
by then, Rama and Sita had spent 12 years as a happily married couple.

Now, we analyze the Saturn/Moon period.

Saturn, being lord of 7th house, is exalted and residing in 4th house. Thus Saturns
Mahadasa is the right period for Lord Rama to get married. Moon is in a unfavorable position even though
it is in the ascendant, in his own house.
So, the possibility for Lord Rama to get married is VERY MINIMAL during this period.
Jupiter Balance at time of Birth Four (4) Years only (Maximum):

Based on some of the important events documented by Sage Valmiki, let us look at
Vimsottari Dasa with balance of Jupiter Period being four (4) years.
Exalted Saturn Mahadasa began the day after Lord Rama celebrated his 4th birthday and will
last until a day before his 23rd birthday.

Venus is in a Favorable position and is exalted in 9th (Dharmastanam) house. Exalted
Venus is lord of 4th (Sukhastanam) and 11th (Human desires) houses.
So, the possibility for Lord Rama to get married is VERY HIGH during Saturn/Venus period.
General Interpretations during Saturn Mahadasa:

1. During the Maha Dasha of Saturn, some sort of authority in the city, village or society may be acquired.
2. Modesty, intelligence and knowledge is enhanced, inclination towards charity and skilled in arts and
crafts.
3. One may be endowed with vehicles, clothes, gold and wealth.
4. One may bring name and fame to the family.
5. Bliss of the family, increase of valour prevails and journeys are undertaken.

1. During the Maha Dasha of Saturn , one may acquire the leadership of villages, cities and countries.
2. One's father may be harmed or may expire and there may be enmity with friends.
3. During the Maha Dasha of Saturn, wealth, spouse, children, siblings and servants maybe harmed.
Predictions using Bhrighu Saral Paddathi (BSP) :

Checking BSP # 1:
Saturn is in 4th house from Lagna. Thus, fourth House from Saturn is 7th house from Lagna,
which is owned by Saturn too. Thus, the possibility for him to get married during Saturn Mahadasa is very
HIGH.
Checking BSP # 2:
Jupiter is in 1st house from Lagna. Thus Jupiter creates hurdles in both 6th and 10th houses.
With Sun residing in 10th house, Jupiter caused hurdles so that Lord Rama wouldnt be a King for the
most important part of his life.
Checking BSP # 3:
Saturn is in 4th house from Lagna, thus the Exalted Saturn rules this house. Being lord of 7th
house in the 4th house, the strength of Saturn pertaining to marital life is VERY HIGH.
Checking BSP # 4:
Saturn is in 4th house from Lagna. Thus, Saturn Spoils/Destroys the 5th house that deals with
progeny, father, mental ability, prosperity, and acquisitions thru wife. Medically, the 5th house rules mind and
Mental illness.

Checking BSP # 23A:
Exalted Sun is in 10th house from Lagna and is lord of 2nd house (Dhanastanam). Thus, as
per this rule, after his 24th birthday and before his 25th birthday, Sun activates 10th house. Sun is in
UNFAVORABLE POSITION.
Also, Exalted Saturns direct aspect resulted in troubles to the native pertaining to family, and he
lost the opportunity to become the King, left to exile and above all, his father died during this period.
Predictions using Saturn Cycle :

Saturn takes approximately 2.5 years in each zodiac sign. Using this, Saturns cycle will be built
for Lord Rama.

During Jupiters transit into 1st house where it touched natal Moon & Jupiter, Lord Rama got
married. Exactly after his completion of 12 years of age, Lord Rama left his parents and went to exile.
Thus, Jupiter transiting his natal Jupiter, resulted in the native performing his Dharma specific
to his age and obligations.
Conclusion:
According to Sage Valmiki, when Lord Rama went to exile, Sita was 18 years old and the couple
had a happy marital life for 12 years by then. Thus, Lord Rama got married when he was 12 years old, and
was exiled when he was 25 years old. With 14 years of exile as per Sage Valmiki, by the time Lord Rama
returned to Ayodhya, he had completed 39 years and Sita had completed 33 years.
According to Vimsottari Dasa, at the age of 39, Ketu Mahadasa began for Lord Rama.

In Saptharishis Website, there were few BSP rules that were made public (thru an article titled
All BSP Techniques on One Chart authored by Yuvraj dated 11April2011).

For those rules that dont have a BSP rule number, I am considering them and analyzing with
suitable examples.
Rule: At the age of 18, Moon Vibrates at its Natal Position.

This article is to prove the abovementioned BSP rule. In this article, Using D1 chart of some
natives, I will be analyzing events when the native was 18 years old. According to Indian age calculation,
the 18th year is termed as the period starting the day after 17th birthday and ending the day before 18th
birthday.

Detailed Analysis specific events:
1. Between Jan 1993 and Jan'1994, Transit Saturn in its Own house, had forced me to face various hurdles
financially. Natal Saturn in 6th house (its OWN), debts, employment conditions worsening were the only
highly noticeable events. With Transit Sun in Makara in Jan 1994 and Transit Saturn in 6th house, I was able
to get a petty job as a nightshift ceiling fan salesman.
2. In Jan 2002, transit Saturn was in 9th house touching Natal Sun,Moon,Mars & Mercury. Just few days
before the entry of transit Sun into Makara, my father died without being hospitalized.
3. In Jan 2013 & Jan 2014, transit Saturn was EXALTED in 2nd house (Dhanastanam & Kutumbha
stanam). With the entry of Transit Sun to Makara (5th house Putrastanam), my Son was hospitalized
due to serious medical issues.
Conclusions:
Thus, transit Sun impact on Native during this period is highly visible. If the Natal Sun is a Benefic and in
a favourable position, the impact would be positive.
