Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions,
and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the
power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a
sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At
the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the
teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will
have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in
the newsletter.

Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron,
and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love
is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things
will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great
you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed.
In Jesus' name,
Amen

I live by faith in the Son of God.

Galatians 2:20
I will not lie; I have taken off my old self.
Colossians 3:9
I will not be ashamed of my Fathers words.
Luke 9:26

Water baptism is one way we can identify with Christ as His

follower in death, burial, and resurrection.

Colossians 2:12, Buried with Him in baptism, in which you
were also raised with Him through faith

Being baptized is something we do to show others that we fully

intend to follow Jesus example; in every part of our lives we are
doing our best to show the world the goodness of God. We want to
bring His love to everyone we meet. In nations where people have
thousands of gods, its nothing for them to come home with another
idol or religious belief. So in those countries, if someone says they are
going to serve Jesus, its just another god to set on the shelf. No big
deal! But if the new Christian decides to follow Jesus in water baptism,
the family gets very upset with them. That is because this means that
Jesus is going to be the only God they are going to believe in and
serve. Baptism is a public statement saying that they will not serve
or worship any other gods. Water baptism is a mark of separation
by which a person states, I am going to identify myself completely
and only with Jesus Christ. Being put under the water is identifying
with Jesus in His death on the cross and the Christian is no longer a
slave to self or sin. Being raised out of the water, is symbolic of
being resurrected, or raised to our new life in Christ. Water baptism is
a step to be taken after becoming a Christian. The water baptism does
not make you more saved; it is a ceremony showing your complete
devotion to live for Christ.
