STAFF CONTRIBUTOR POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR 2015-16 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Office of Admissions is seeking highly motivated Gannon students to work for Edge, our online
magazine geared toward current students, prospective students and their families. The purpose of Edge
is to share news, information and insight on the Gannon experience.
Available positions:
Staff Writer: Staff writers, under the guidance of the editorial board, will generate one piece of
original content for every two hours worked per week. This may include written features, blogs,
or photography depending on the contributors skill set and the direction of the editorial board.
Contributors will be hired for either 2 or 4 paid office hours per week and are also expected to
attend weekly staff meetings.
Multimedia Contributors: Under the guidance of the editorial board, multimedia contributors
are responsible for the timely production of videos, photos, and/or social media campaigns
through all stages of production including pre-production, shooting and editing. Experience with
Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and social media platforms or comparable software is
necessary. Multimedia contributors must complete 2 - 4 paid hours of work per week, either in
the field or in the office.

Qualifications: The ideal candidates will demonstrate:

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Effective communications skills
Leadership experience
A background in journalism, writing, editing, photography, video production, public relations
and/or communications
A strong desire to promote Gannon University to prospective students and their families
Completion of at least two semesters at Gannon
Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas
Ability to work interdependently
Must maintain 2.5 GPA
