Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture It!

Beijing +20 Picture it Competition!


Can you picture what it would be like to fully achieve gender equality in Tanzania? Can you
picture a world where men and women, girls and boys have the same access to opportunities
free from discrimination and where their human rights are fully respected?
On the occasion of twenty years since the landmark Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action
you are invited to share your vision or statement on gender equality, womens rights and
womens empowerment in Tanzania.
Take a photograph, draw or paint a picture that is somehow related to gender equality,
womens rights and/or womens empowerment in Tanzania, and the Beijing Platform for
Action.
Your artwork/picture will be displayed during a special meeting of development partners and
UN representatives who will choose the winners. The winning artwork will be awarded a
camera. The runner up will receive the opportunity to spend a day at UN Women. All
participants will receive a certificate signed by the United Nations Resident Coordinator.
This competition is open only to members of UN Clubs, YUNA or UNA in the United Republic of
Tanzania.

Entries must be received by 4.30 pm on Tuesday 31 March 2015.

Competition Rules
1. Entrants must be members of a UN Club, Youth of United Nations Association (YUNA)
and/or United Nations Association in Tanzania. In case of winning the entrant will be
required to prove their membership.
2. Only one entry per person.
3. All entries must be accompanied by the entry form or the following information: full
name, contact phone number, email if possible, details about whether they are a
member of a UN Club (which), YUNA or UNA, age, location and a brief description about
their picture/artwork and how it related to the theme of the competition.
4. All entries must be received by 4.30 pm on Tuesday 31 March 2015.
5. There are no restrictions on the size of entries, however entries must be either a
photograph, drawing or painting. They may be printed or sent electronically as
photographs that will be printed on a standard colour printer in A4 size.
6. Entries will remain the property of the United Nations Tanzania unless entrants request
specifically for them to be returned.
7. The judges decision is final.
