Solutions Index
1) Verify that the correct Software driver was
added to the project.
a) Example: Hardware is a Switch; Software
driver in project reflects a Dimmer
2) Verify the channel number (7-4-7).
a) Press the top button 7 times.
b) Press the bottom button 4 times.
c) Press the top button 7 times again.
d) The LED’s will flash what channel number
the device is on.
i) The LED’s flash very quickly.
3) Verify that the channel is correct on the
controller.
a) Highlight the controller in the System
Design tab in Composer. Figure A-2
b) Verify the channel number in the

e) If you have a small number of devices you
may also choose to:
i) Disconnect all the switches/dimmers
only.
ii) Re-identify starting with the
troublesome device.

B. Will Not Control The load

C. Will Not Power up

1) The LEDs may just be dark. Attempt to reset
the Zigbee device (9-9-9).

a) Press the top button 9 times.
b) Press the bottom button 9 times.
c) Press the top button 9 times again.
d) Wait about 5 seconds and the LED’s will
begin to flash.
e) Device is ready when LED is solid blue.

LED’s start to flash quickly.

D. No LED’s
Solutions Index
1) Check power source.
a) Is the power OK?
b) Use a volt meter to verify 110VAC
c) Check the breaker.
2) Verify that the device is wired correctly.
i) All neutrals together.
ii) Black to Hot.
iii) Red to Load.
b) Check for a loose wire in a bundle.
3) Reset the Zigbee device (9-9-9).
*Note* This will reset all ramp rates, LED
colors, and any other setting to factory default.
a) Press the top button 9 times.
b) Press the bottom button 9 times.
c) Press the top button 9 times again.
d) Wait about 5 seconds and the LED’s will Figure D-2

4) Make sure LED colors are not set to black.
a) Check Composer system design.

E. LED’s Flickering
Solutions Index
1) Device is updating.
a) Wait ten minutes.
2) Device is wired wrong.
a) Verify that the device is wired correctly.
i) All neutrals together.
ii) Black to Hot.
iii) Red to Load.
3) Load is too high.
a) A Dimmer with none of the fins broken off
is rated at 1000 watts.
b) Each fin that is broken off, de-rates the
dimmer by 200 watts.
c) Similarly, ganging devices de-rates
dimmers and switches.
i) 1000 watts in a single gang box,
ii) 800 in a double gang. Figure E-2
iii) 600 in a triple or higher gang box.
4) Reset the Zigbee device (9-9-9).

colors, and any other setting to factory default.
a) Press the top button 9 times.
b) Press the bottom button 9 times.
c) Press the top button 9 times again.
d) Wait about 5 seconds and the LED’s will
