INTRODUCTION
These Water Standard Specifications are to be used as a guide by
Private Engineers and Contractors in the design and installation of
all additions or modifications to the San Bernardino Municipal
Water Department (SBMWD) infrastructure.
It is the intent that these Water Standard Specifications will
provide uniformity in materials and installation of piping, valves,
fire hydrants, service laterals, and other appurtenant equipment.
These Water Standard Specifications will also provide for
construction methods and controls to be used by Contractors to
construct, pressure test, chlorinate, and place into service
domestic water systems in the SBMWD service area.
Note: Any changes to Sections 2 through 7 of these Water Standard
Specifications shall be prepared as a separate document titled
"Special Conditions to the Water Standard Specifications" (Section
8 of these Specifications) and shall be approved by SBMWD prior to
construction.
