Q-MATIC Solo
A new stand-alone system
Q-MATIC Solo is a new stand-alone system.
Q-MATIC TP3150 and Q-MATIC TP3155 are the ticket printers and servers in Solo system.
Q-MATIC Solo is a new stand-alone system with two new ticket printers: Q-MATIC TP3150 and
Q-MATIC TP3155. The Solo system does not require any PC to handle the queues or the
hardware units. Any PC in the same network can be used to read information or change in the
system settings.
Q-MATIC TP3150 and Q-MATIC TP3155 are based on the same technology as the other TP31xx
ticket printers (TP3110 and TP3115).

Inside the Q-MATIC Solo system

The server ticket printer is the most important part of a Q-MATIC Solo system. The server printer is
both a ticket printer and a system server.
The system architecture for the Solo system is based on Q-WIN. They use the same way to
communicate with hardware units, same type of script, etc.

The Q-MATIC serial communication (1745) is used to connect all hardware units to the ticket
printer. The only exception is when a second ticket printer is connected to the system. The ticket
printer (TP3110 or TP3115) use Ethernet for communication.
TCP/IP is used between the server printer (TP3150 or TP3155) and a second ticket printer. It is
also used when PCs are connected to the Solo system. The PCs can be used to change system
settings or to read system information.

Stand-alone system
Q-MATIC Solo does not require any PC to handle the queues.
Q-MATIC Solo is a stand-alone system; it does not require any PC to handle the queues. The
advantage is a lower installation cost and less maintenance. The lack of a PC server also results in
high reliability and no risk for problems with capacity or compatibility.

Easy to use
Q-MATIC Solo is designed to be easy to use and to install.
Q-MATIC Solo has user-friendly interfaces for all settings and applications.

Network printers with web server

A built-in web server gives access to all information from any PC in the same network as the
ticket printers.
Both Q-MATIC TP3150 and Q-MATIC TP3155 have a built-in web server. Any PC in the same
network can be used to read system information and to change the system settings.

Compatible with most of our hardware units

The Solo system is compatible with most of our hardware units: displays, workstation
terminal, interfaces, etc.
Most of our hardware units can be connected to the Solo system. Connect displays, workstation
terminals, interfaces, etc. to build a complete customer solution. These units still use the Q-MATIC
serial communication (1745) to communicate with the ticket printers.
It is also possible to connect a second ticket printer to the Solo system. This printer must be a
Q-MATIC TP3110 or Q-MATIC TP3115 and they must be connected to the same network as the
Q-MATIC TP3150 or Q-MATIC TP3155.

Flexible system
Scripts make it possible to fulfil a wide range of customer requirements.
An important strength with systems form Q-MATIC is that they are extremely flexible due to the
possibility to use scripts. The Q-MATIC Solo system is no exception. Use the same scripts as in QWIN to create customer solutions.

Management information
Use the included management screen to get information about the queues and the
workstations.
The included management screen is web based and can be opened in any standard web browser.
The number of waiting customers, number of open workstations, estimated waiting time and real
waiting time is presented for each category. It is also possible to get detailed information about
each ticket number within a category.
The management screen displays which workstations that are open and the time they have served
the current customer.
The user can take action in an early stage of a problem to prevent critical situations.

Statistical reports
Five reports in pdf format give the user information about the stored statistical data.
The Q-MATIC Solo system stores the same type of detailed statistical information as Q-WIN. The
statistical data is stored inside the server ticket printers. The printers can store statistics from the
latest three months. The included statistical reports present this information in easy-to-red reports.
All you need to get access to the reports is a PC connected to the same network as the ticket
printer and a standard web browser.
To get a report is very easy. The numbers of selections are few. Select a report, a report interval
and a date. All selections are displayed in one view.

The statistical reports are in pdf-format. This format makes them easy to read on the screen, to
print, to attach to an e-mail message or to add to presentations.

Q-MATIC Solo can automatically generate reports at a pre-defined time. These reports are
automatically sent by e-mail to one or more receivers. Auto reports minimise the risk for faulty
reports because the same settings are used every time.

Export statistics
Export statistical data to the new Q-MATIC Management Portal.
The Q-MATIC Management Portal can import statistical data from Q-MATIC Solo systems. Then it
is possible to analyse the statistical data, to use the wide range of report templates or to design
customised reports.
The Q-MATIC Management Portal can import statistics from many Q-MATIC Solo systems and
include it in the same report. It is even possible to mix data from Q-MATIC Solo and Q-WIN.

Software terminal
A software terminal is included.

The software terminal is a web-based terminal accessible from a standard web browser. The
terminal has the basic features: call next customer, close the workstation, select workstation
number and select a priority.
Up to 15 software terminals can be used at the same time.
The software terminal is included in the system. There are no licenses.
It is not possible to use any other type of software terminals.

Web-based settings
All settings are available from a PC with a standard web browser.
All system settings can be reached from a web browser. The settings are divided into two groups:
printer settings and system settings.
The system settings are used during the installation. Here you can find the settings for all hardware
units, the script programs, etc.

The printer settings are the settings that you may need after the installation. Here you can find the
network settings, passwords, date and time, etc.

Security
Passwords protect all information in the system from unauthorised changes.
Four access levels protect the system from unauthorised changes. Each level is protected with a
password.
The highest level, installation administrator, has access to all parts of the system. This level is used
for installation of the system.
The administrator level gives access to all parts except the system installation. The administrator
can change in the printer settings, read statistics reports, view the management screen and use the
software terminal.
The manager level can read statistics reports, view the management screen and use the software
terminal.
The counter level can use the software terminal but not open the management screen, read reports
or change in any settings.

Ticket editor
The Q-MATIC Solo system has a new user-friendly ticket editor.
The Q-MATIC Solo system uses a new and user-friendly ticket editor. The ticket editor is an
application that can be installed on any PC connected to the same network as the ticket printers.

Localization
The ticket printers can handle any fonts from all languages.
All texts in the Q-MATIC Solo system can be translated to the local language and use the local
alphabet.

Support
It is easy to make back up and to send log files for support.
It is possible to make a back up of all settings and statistics in Q-MATIC Solo. The back up is
saved on a PC. This back up can also be used to copy settings from one Q-MATIC Solo system to
another.
All files that are required for support (log files and settings files) can be saved as one packed file
that is easy to, for example, attach to an e-mail message. This makes it very easy to support QMATIC Solo systems.

Compatibility
The Q-MATIC Solo system is compatible with most Q-WIN hardware products and the
statistical data is compatible with the Q-MATIC Management Portal.
The statistics files from the Q-MATIC Solo system are compatible with the Q-MATIC Management
Portal.
It is not possible to use BP28xx ticket printers in the Q-MATIC Solo system.
Most hardware units (displays, interfaces, workstation terminals and connection boxes) can be
used in the Q-MATIC Solo system.
It is possible to downgrade both the TP3150 and the TP3155 to printers for Q-WIN systems. This
makes it very easy to upgrade from a Q-MATIC Solo system to Q-WIN. The user does not have to
remove any of the existing hardware units.

System size
The Q-MATIC Solo system is design for small to medium sized systems. These are the maximum
limits for a Q-MATIC Solo system.

Number of ticket printers: 2 (one TP3150 or TP3155 and one TP3110 or TP3115)
Number of workstations: 15
Number of ticket buttons: 5
Number of categories: 5
Number of Voice Units: 3
Number of Multi Interfaces: 4
Number of matter code: 3

Q-WIN should be used when the system is bigger than described above and in the following cases.

The system requires a database.

The system requires software options such as Q-MATIC Monitor, calendar or an advanced
software terminal.
The user wants to use login codes.
The user wants to use Q-MATIC Vision.
The user wants access to the reports or management screens available in Q-WIN.
The system should include customised reports or management screens.
The system should be integrated with an application.

Opportunities
Stand-alone system
Q-MATIC Solo is a stand-alone system that does not require any PC to run. A stand-alone system
is very compact, reliable and cost effective. There is no server PC that must be maintained.
This is the solution for a small organisation that want a modern system but who does not require all
features available in Q-WIN system.
It is also perfect in a big organisation with small branches. The possibility for headquarters to
import statistics from both Q-MATIC Solo and Q-WIN makes this a very powerful solution.

Easy to use system

Q-MATIC Solo is very easy to use. The user does not require any special knowledge and does not
have to spend any time in courses. The user can start using the system immediately after it has
been installed.

Easy to edit tickets

Everybody that can write a letter in Microsoft Word can also edit a ticket text. You need no special
product knowledge to add standard information such as a ticket number, time and date.
Almost every visitor takes a ticket and reads it. Use this opportunity to print information or
advertisements on the tickets. It is possible to print a voucher together with the ordinary ticket.

Reports
A number of statistical reports present the statistical information in a way that is easy to read and
understand. The web-based reports can be opened from a standard web browser.
The reports use the pdf-format which makes them easy to use. They are easy to read on the
screen, they are perfect to print, they can be attached to e-mail messages or included in
presentations.
The reports show when customers arrived and which services they requested. This information can
be used in planning. You know when customers will arrive and which services they are going to
choose.
The reports show when the workstations have been open and how much of the time they spent
serving customers. This information can be used to improve the effectiveness.
The reports can also be used to follow up quality objectives, for example if the goal is to keep the
waiting time below a certain time.

Import statistics into the Q-MATIC Management Portal

The statistical reports are perhaps not enough. Use the Q-MATIC Management Portal to get the full
power from the statistical information. The Q-MATIC Management Portal can import statistical data
from one or many Q-MATIC Solo system. Then it is possible to use the Management Portal to
analyse the statistical data and to combine information from many branches.
This is the perfect solution for a large organisation with both big and small offices. The big
branches can use Q-WIN and the smaller branches can use Q-MATIC Solo. At headquarters they
collect the statistical information from all branches no matter which system they have.

Management screen
An easy to read management screen gives immediate information about the queue situation and
activities at the workstations. The management screen is web-based and opened from a web
browser.
Use this information to prevent critical situations with long waiting times.

Software terminals
The included software terminal has all the basic functionality that you need to serve customers.
You can call the customer, close the workstation, select a workstation number and select a priority.

The software terminal is included in the Q-MATIC Solo system. All you need are PCs with web
browsers.

High security
Four password levels protect the system from unauthorised use or changes. Everybody get access
to their part of the system.
