Pollution

A very good morning to my beautiful lecture, Miss Narmi and all my fellow
friends. Today I will give a speech about what happened around us lately.
Can you guest what happened around us at the end of 2014 and early
2015? A big float happened at Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and
Sarawak. Why can this disaster happened? Lets discuss together, so we
can post mortem this issue and learn something from this.
What is pollution? Pollution is an issue of concern in the modern world
that we live today. There is many types of pollution, namely air, water,
land and noise. Pollution is actually in our environment will undoubtedly
affect our life. Our beautiful nature become ugly because it is suffering
from the effects of environmental. Pollution can cause various health
problems and other negative effects to us. There are many different
reasons why pollution is bad for our environment. Before mentioning the
most important ones we first need to be aware that pollution has many
different forms meaning that it can negatively affect environment from
many aspect.
Water pollution is bad for environment because it leads to decline of fresh
water resources which means that there isnt enough safe drinking water
to support nearby ecosystem. Animals that drink water filled with different
chemicals and other harmful waste experience poisoning and deaths.
Water pollution can also lead to creation of so called dead zones where
animals and plants cannot live due to lack of oxygen. Water pollutants
also cause aquatic animals breathing difficulties.
Now we go for the next issue, air pollution. Air pollution does big damage
to our environment. Harmful greenhouse gases for instance not only
pollute our planet but also contribute to global warming and climate
change. Some air pollutants also destroy ozone layer, opening the door for
harmful ultraviolet rays. Air pollution also leads to creation of acids rain
that can cause great damage to many plants and animals. Air pollution
also can causes breathing problem for many animals which can result in
their deaths.
Thirdly, is noise pollution. What is noise pollution? Noise pollution is often
neglected form of pollution that can be pretty bad for our environment.
Noise pollution coming from cars and industry can have negative impact
on nearby ecosystem by frightening animals and changing their nature
habitats. This pollution is not only happening on the land but also in our
oceans, mostly because of excessive offshore drilling. Sea animals such as
dolphin and whales are among most affected species. Oil spills cause

massive and long-term damage to marine wildlife. The scenes of animals

trapped in oil spill are horrific to watch.
Next is nuclear waste pollution can occur during nuclear accidents such as
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is a particularly dangerous form of
environmental pollution because nuclear waste stays radioactive for at the
least 5000 years and cause death of many animals.
Lastly is light pollution. Excessive light pollution can also have negative
impact on our environment. Light pollution can negatively affect nearby
ecosyestems and distrupt the proper functioning of food web chain. Light
pollution is especially harmful for nocturnal animals as it can distrupt their
navigational ability.
Why is pollution issue so important? Pollution issue is one of the most
important environmental, social and health issue in the world. The rapid
growth of world population has been closely accompanied by the rapid
increase in all form of pollution, especially air and water pollution. World
still lacks global unity needed to solve pollution issue. Some regional
successes are overshadowed by ever-increasing levels of pollution in some
countries.
Pollution issue is important because Earth is still our only home, and
pollutions making this making this planet dirty and unhealthy to live in.
Pollution creates many diseases and causes death of many people all
across the globe.
The conclusions is we need to take pollution issue seriously because
ignorance is certainly not the proper way to go. The stakes are really high
and world needs to wake up and start acting right now because
environmental issues are constantly growing in both number and size.
Thank you.
