Inside clamping bevelling machine type US25:
The air-powered US25 beveller is a robust and portable weld-end
preparation machine. It performs repeatable, high quality weldpreps on most metal pipes including stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, alloys, from 25 mm ID to 90 mm OD.
The cutting head will bevel, face and counterbore individually or
in a synchronised operation.

2.6 Outside clamping machining equipment for tube panels GR76

The PROTEM GR-Series are outside clamping machines, specifically designed for membrane wall panels. They enable simultaneous
weld end preparations and excavation of the wall membranes. The
machines body is made of aluminium with optimised mechanical
characteristics which permit a combination of lightness and resistance, particularly adapted to on-site machining conditions. The
clamping device is composed of a fixed jaw and a mobile jaw, actuated by a ratchet. One set of jaws is necessary for each diameter.
Therefore, the customer shall indicate the diameters of the tubes to
be machined together with the dimensions/distance between the
panels. The feed operation is performed manually thanks to a
ratchet. The PROTEM GR machines are equipped with special milling tools, fitted with standard carbide inserts. Each milling tool is
dedicated to one specific machining operation. All milling tools are
designed to meet customers specifications. A drawing presenting all
details relevant to the machining to be performed shall be submitted
on order. All components are of a modular design for easy maintenance and safety

3.1 Tube and pipe cutting and bevelling machines TT-NG-Series
The tube cutting machines of the TT-NG-series are

accurate in cutting and/or bevelling tubes and pipes
of all schedules in one simultaneous operation.
These machines are especially designed to machine
tubes with large wallthicknesses. They are very robust and can be installed in various positions. Their
split frame configuration allows their opening in 2
half-shells. For the manual clamping 4 independent
adjustable jaws are used. The machines have a rear
centering feature and completely enclosed drive
gears for the operators safety.

.The machines of the TTLW series will sever and bevel simultaneously. The light weight TTLW can be easily
mounted on in-line piping system. The TTLW is designed to be set up in tight places. The turning ring is rolling in adjustable bearings to give the possibility to be reset. The TTLW can perform a cut up to 25.4 mm wall
on any material and cut and bevel on carbon steel up to 20 mm. A variety of weld joint designs can be performed including severance cut, bevel both ends, J-bevel, counterbore, compound bevel and socket weld
removal.

3.5 PROTEM Micro-Lubrification System

This system of lubrication is designed for HSS and carbide tools, or used for the PROTEM machines for
cutting and bevelling (ranges TTNG, TTLW, MF and others). This system of micro-lubrication can also be
used with any other type of machines for cutting and/or bevelling.
The system of micro-lubrication is completely independent of the machine with which it can be associated
It can be positioned under the tube to be cut and/or bevelled on ground level.
The basis is hold by two cross-pieces (ref. 1) which allow its movement by forklift or through any other
adapted means of handling
It can be positioned directly on the tube while fixed with removable tension belts (ref. 2) which are
provided for adjustment in height and the desired levelling (with pawl).
It also has 4 handles (ref. 3) which allow a use in areas where a forklift could not be used.
The tension belts are provided with hooks and lockings fixed on the lifting eye (ref. 4).

3.6 Tube cutting and bevelling machine MF-Serie

The machine type MF-Series has been specially designed to
cut and bevel tubes from 60.3 mm OD to 406 mm OD in one
operation. Possible bevel angles are 30 and 37.5. The MF170
works with carbide inserts, the MF420 with HSS tool bits.
The tool holder plate is equipped with two tool carriages. The
feed movement is performed automatically.
The MF maschines are driven electrically, are having a speed
regulation and a quick operatable concentric clamping system.
A safety cover with stop-function protects the operator. These
machines are performing repeatable high quality weld preparations on tubes with all type of materials (steel, stainless steel
and other alloys).

The Machine PROTEM OHSB-C-6-14 is designed to carry out bevels or compound bevels by copying.
A carriage with hydraulic radial movement, mounted on the tool holder plate enables to perform bevelling

The hydraulic high speed beveller PROTEM US80/150HSB-R-HYD machine can be used either onsite or in a workshop.
The machine is transportable, easy to install and will be clamped into the inside diameter of the pipe.
The US80/150HSB-R-HYD is used for bevelling, facing and counterboring works. These works can be
processed individually or simultaneously.
It will perform repeatable high quality bevel with a I, V, J, X shape or compounded bevels perfectly
suitable for the orbital or manual welding process.

Information:
The maximum wall thickness which can be machined with the US220HSB-R-HYD depends directly from the
application such as the angle of the bevel, the configuration of the bevel, the material, the type of carbide
insert used etc. These machining parameters selected will enable to determine which wall thickness can be
machined. For wall thickness < 10 mm it may be necessary to use enveloping pods and to adjust the supply
pressure of the mandrel. For wall thickness > 32 mm it may be necessary to add a third hydraulic drive to
increase the machining torque or to use specific carbide inserts.
If the wall thicknesses of the pipes which are to be machined enter the above mentioned cases, please consult PROTEM. We may draw your attention to the fact that you will be requested to provide us with pipe
samples, especially if the features of your pipes are different from the ones mentioned in the description here
above. The technical features might be different according to the hydraulic drives, the cylinder size for clamping and the feed system.

The electric BB machine can be used either on-site or in the workshop. This heavy duty beveller will bevel,
face and counterbore individually or simultaneously heavy wall pipes. It will perform repeatable high quality
weld preps on most metal pipes including stainless, duplex, super duplex from 3 to 24 outside diameter
(88.9 mm OD up to 610 mm OD).See BB 3-16 and BB 12-24, larger models on request -The machine is a bench beveller, can be fixed or not on the floor, is easily installed and clamps the outside

4.10 Automatic cutting and bevelling machine model CTA-Series
The CTA model is designed for production or prefab workshops. It allows cutting and bevelling tube sections
at the right length. The cutting is square and the bevel angles are very precise. The cold machining process
gives a clean surface finish and does not affect the pipe material features.
A unique machine allows the cutting and the bevelling of various tubes. The standard ranges are as follows:

6" to 16" (168,3 to 406,4 mm) outside diameter

Cutting principle
The tube to cut is stationary. It is immobilized in the machines outside clamping systems. The tool bits
mounted on the rotating plate are put into rotation around the tube to perform the cut.
The feed and back up of the tool bits are realized entirely mechanically during the rotation of the tool holder
plate. While cutting, the machine performs bevelling on both ends.
The tool holder carriages mounted on the rotating plate are equipped with housings which can accept
several types of tool blocks.
Possible shapes of bevels:
straight cut
30 bevelling with land (2 bevels are performed si multaneously with a 60 pointed tool bit)
Other bevel forms please consult PROTEM.
Remark:
The size of the land depends directly on the tube ovalization.
In order to guarantee the quality of the cut, it may be necessary, in case of welded tubes, to orientate the
weld versus the machine or to make it flush.
You can increase the lifetime of the tool bits with the option: cooling system.
Machining time
Machining times will depend on material, wall thickness, etc..
They will be given after testing on tubes samples.
Remark concerning tube changing (diameter and/ or thickness):
A manual adjustment of the tool holder carriages is necessary when changing diameter.

The rotating plate is guided with a sealed bearing which features an accessible greaser.
It is driven with an asynchronous gear system
