1. REVISIONS
1.1. Rev 5, issued by Luca Mancinetti, 3/5/2007.
2. GENERAL
Guide for the positioning and grouting of the Cubogas to the foundation.
The drawings and the sketches are typical.
The foundation should be realized before as indicated in the DWP drawings.
3. DEFINITIONS
Cubogas: plant for compression including baseplate, electric motor, etc..
Anchor bolt: see Figure 5.
4. FOUNDATION PREPARING
Before pouring remove from the foundation any concrete that is deteriorated or not solid
and roughens the surfaces. Then, clean them of any trace of grease and clean the holes
for the anchor bolts. Saturate the foundation surfaces with water at least 12 hours before
pouring. Then, remove with compressed air the water which has not absorbed and that
witch remains within the anchor holes.

METALLIC
SHIM
Place 6 thick metal shims on the foundation, same size, about 60-100 mm high.
Lower the Cubogas onto the foundation block, checking that each foundation bolts
fits into its hole.
Level the Cubogas with the register screws (Figure 4), leaving a gap of approx. 60100 mm between the foundation and the Cubogas. Check the leveling in a plane
area on the compressor, such as cylinders heads or frame.

Check the position of the foundation bolts in their holes. They should not force on
them (Figure 5).
Make and spot a formwork of wood round the baseplate like indicated in Figure 5

8. POURING
Pouring is done starting from one side or from a corner so as not to encompass air.
Use the holes in the baseplate as vents for the air.
Pouring must be done in one single time. Push the pouring every point to fill up the space
below the baseplate with the aid of irons bars, chains or vibrators and check that there are
not air pockets in it. The height of the pouring should be as indicated in Figure 5. The
process must be done quickly and continuously.
If it is possible, stop any other machines nearby, because the vibrations might
compromise the adhesiveness of the pouring to the equipment.
9. FINAL OPERATIONS
When the civil works specialist considers that the concrete has the right consistency,
loosen the leveling screws.
Finally, tighten the foundation bolts, in the order indicated in Figure 7, checking that
neither the bolts nor the Cubogas have moved (due to poor anchoring).
