Personal Statement

Life has taught me some essential lessons that became principles for me: to embrace
the risk instead of safety if I want freedom, to love with abnegation if I want to fill the
unforgiving minute.
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run (If by R. Kipling), to fight to achieve my goals instead
of waiting for them to happen and to take the control over my habits in order to develop a bright
personality.
As a child, I knew that great things are waiting to happen in my life but along the way,
came sorrowful moments that carved me and made me stronger. All this trial determined me to
strive for a better future and that is why I have chosen to apply for a university in Denmark. It
offers the best educational system, a diploma that is recognized worldwide, a tremendous
amount of knowledge of quality and skills that can nothing but predict my success in career, not
to mention the amazing, picturesque places and the variety of possibilities adapted for a
satisfied student life the country has.
The field of study I have chosen is Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management because
I know that it needs self-denial, willingness and a lot of work to achieve any aims. This is possible
only doing what you love and I can surely assert that this is what I want to do in life and by far
my strongest urge. Moreover, this field offers a huge possibility to communicate with a lot of
interesting people, each of them is a holder of their own cultural heritage .In the last years I
travelled a lot, met new people who taught me that we should be grateful about cultural
differences, because of them, there is always something to learn and to share. Definitely, this is
another reason why I have chosen to study abroad.
I believe that Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management has a great future in my
country, even now it is only at the beginning of development. I am zealous to contribute to the
improvement of this field in my country and I am sure that the universities from Denmark will
offer me the best conditions to grow and to become one of the best. As a conscious citizen of my
country I want to excel at studies in order to gain the skills of an eminent and outstanding
master of my work.
In lyceum, my favorite subjects were world literature, geography and certainly English.
These subjects enlarged my cognitive horizon and helped me build linguistic and thinking skills.
In my free time I am usually trying to vary my activities. But above all I love reading; I can name
myself a bookworm always willing to devour thousands of novels books of personal development
and any other types of books. I am convinced that reading in the best path that leads to a rich
imagination and is able to give you all the answers you ever needed.
Furthermore, in lyceum, I was the leader of my class and a member of the senate,
something that help me to develop leadership skills. I initiated community works as cleaning the
spring and the park near my lyceum. Moreover, I want to remark that an important part of my
life and something that contributed to formation of my personality is definitely sport. I have been
playing volleyball since I was 11. Now I am playing for sport club Speranta which is one of the
best in Republic of Moldova. With my team, we won for many years Youth and Junior National
Championships. In 2014 we ranked on the 2 nd place in Senior National Championship.
These extracurricular activities formed my spirit of cooperation, leadership and responsibility.

As Martin Luther king Jr. said once in 1963 that he had a dream, I have one too, and I
believe that on education depends the prosperity of the society, that education liberates the man
and gives the opportunity to overcome and to cope with the actual problems of our society that
desperately need solutions. All I want is to be given the wings to the unlimited treasures of the
universe that can be conquered through education and by fulfilling my dreams.
