POWDER PUFF

Attention Ladies: If you are interested in playing Powder Puff this year, your $25 for the
jersey is due to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office before March 27th. If you would like to
fundraise for the jersey, please see Ms. DeCanio in room 1005. The last day to order is
March 27th. Numbers are on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.

SENIORS

Attention Seniors! The adult CNA course for 2015 registration has begun. If you would like
to take the summer CNA class please contact Mrs. S Chambers (Nursing Instructor) for
more details. There are eleven spots available; it is first come first serve.

CAMP ROYAL

Every year the Selma Rotary looks to send two female and two male Selma High School
juniors to Camp Royal. This is an all-expense-paid leadership experience at Lake Sequoia
with 200 young student leaders from over 60 high schools from within Monterey, Fresno,
Kings, and Tulare Counties.
The camp will take place this year for June 13 - June 18. Students can pick up an
application in the Student office or download the application from our school website.
Camp Royal applications are due to Ms. DeCanio in room 1005 by Monday, March
16. Dont miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity!

LIBRARY NEWS

The library has officially changed its opening time from 7am to 7:30am.

CAR SHOW

Applications for the 2015 car show are available in the student office on the counter.

GIRLS SOCCER

ALL RETURNING PLAYERS: There is a MEETING TODAY, TUESDAY MARCH 3rd at 11:50
in Rm 1006. The meeting will cover the rest of this year and whats ahead for next year.
If you haven't turned in your uniform, please bring it to the meeting on Tuesday.

SENIORS

If you missed taking the placement tests for RC/FCC last week, please see Ms. Loving ASAP
so that she can get you scheduled to take the tests. Your college education is depending on
you.

ASB elections will take place during lunch next week. There will be a primary election on
Wednesday, March 4 for the offices of President and Treasurer to narrow it down to just 2
candidates. The General ASB election will be held on Friday, March 6. All current freshmen,
sophomores, and juniors should plan to vote! Look for the video campaign ads coming
soon! Class Officer Packets are also due on March 6th! See information posted on our
school website!

SOPHOMORE
ATTENDENTS

The class officers of 2016 are looking for sophomores to serve as Sophomore Attendants to
assist w/prom. Applications are available now in the student office. Priority is given to those
running for Junior class officer position. Applications are due March 13th!

PROM

Attn: Jrs/Srs. Its time to get your date lined up for prom. Tickets go on sale in less than a
month. Remember you must academically be eligible by the February 20 th grading period
and free of debt.

LIBRARY

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week to your library. The book fair will run March
9th through lunch on March 13th. Stop by and see all the Books, Posters and accessories!
The Book Fair will be open before school, first thirty minutes of lunch and thirty minutes
after school Monday through Thursday. We will also be open for Open House, Thursday
March 12th 6:30-8pm so bring your parents in to shop!

RAISIN ROYALTY

The city of Selma is looking for Raisin Royalty Candidates. If you would like to earn some
money and a possible scholarship please contact the Selma Chamber at 891-2235.
Candidates must be between 16 and 23 years of age by May 1, 2015.

CHEER

How would you like to be a SHS cheerleader? Pick up a cheer packet on the counter in the
student office. Cheer packets are due BY March 13, 2015 no later than 4:30pm. Go Bears!

Young Ambassadors Program for Seniors: The Smithsonian Latino Center is now accepting applications for the
2015 Young Ambassadors Program June 21 through July 31. The application deadline is April 6, before 5 p.m. EDT.
The Young Ambassadors Program is a national program for graduating high school seniors aimed at fostering the
next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences and humanities via the Smithsonian and its resources. For
more information see Ms. Loving.
