PROPSITO DEL CURSO

El propsito de este curso es que el estudiante desarrolle destrezas bsicas para la
comprensin de textos en ingls relacionados con la informtica, a travs de la
adquisicin de conocimientos elementales de gramtica y vocabulario tcnico.
OBJETIVOS ESPECIFICOS
1. Comprender textos en ingls relacionados con los diferentes contenidos
temticos a desarrollar en el curso.
2. Extraer ideas principales de un texto.
3. Identificar vocabulario tcnico en ingls relacionado con el rea de la
Informtica.
4. Aplicar las estructuras gramaticales presentes en el material didctico a
utilizar en el curso.
OBSERVACIONES GENERALES
Debido a que la adquisicin de un idioma es una habilidad, se requiere estudio y
prctica constante para adquirir esta competencia. Por tanto, se le recomienda al
estudiante distribuir el tiempo de manera que pueda asimilar los contenidos como
se le sugiere en el cronograma de estudio.
El estudiante debe realizar las actividades de preparacin para la lectura, los
ejercicios y dems actividades que refuerzan los contenidos.
Leer cuidadosamente las instrucciones, el vocabulario tcnico ms destacado, las
explicaciones gramaticales que vienen en los cuadritos identificados como HELPBOX
y realizar los ejercicios indicados.
Realizar los ejercicios, revisarlos cuidadosamente contra la HOJA de RESPUESTAS
presentada como un apndice al final de la gua de estudio para confirmar si estn
correctas y/o revisar nuevamente el ejercicio o el material correspondiente.
Los ejercicios de escucha no son parte del estudio individual, pues no es el objetivo
central de este curso; sin embargo, en la pgina web de la Ctedra el material de
audio se pondr a disposicin para que aquellos estudiantes que deseen desarrollar
esta habilidad puedan igualmente hacerlo. La habilidad lingstica de escucha no
ser evaluada, pero es altamente recomendable.
A la vez, se ofrecern tutoras presenciales no obligatorias en los centros
universitarios donde la matrcula lo permita. En stas se discutir lo ledo para cada
clase y se evacuarn dudas y/o consultas.

Debe informarse acerca de los centros universitarios donde se imparten las tutoras
del curso Ingls. Para obtener los horarios de las tutoras, acuda al centro
universitario donde se matricul. Esta informacin tambin puede encontrarse en la
pgina web de la UNED
La evaluacin del curso consta de dos exmenes ordinarios y dos tareas. Las tareas
estn incluidas en este folleto y son de carcter individual. Las fechas de exmenes
aparecen en el Instructivo de Matrcula y Oferta de Asignaturas del cuatrimestre
correspondiente.
Para las pruebas escritas, el uso del diccionario, traductores electrnicos, y
fichas de estudio NO es permitido. Las fechas y contenidos de estos
instrumentos se detallan ms adelante.
Ninguna informacin relacionada con horarios de tutoras, fechas de
exmenes y entrega de tareas; as como, calificaciones se suministran por
telfono o por correo electrnico.
Consideraciones generales:
Artculo 48, Reglamento General Estudiantil:
El proceso de evaluacin de los aprendizajes constar de los siguientes momentos
para la aplicacin de los instrumentos o pruebas: ordinario y de reposicin.
a) Prueba escrita ordinaria: Instrumentos o pruebas escritas, con la utilizacin
de formato fsico o digital que haya sido previamente anunciada en la Orientaciones
Acadmicas de los cursos o asignaturas entregadas a cada estudiante. []
b) Prueba escrita de reposicin: Instrumentos de evaluacin con la utilizacin
de formato fsico o digital que se aplica por una nica vez para reponer solo una de
las pruebas escritas ordinarias, de cada asignatura, por reprobacin o no
presentacin de sta. Evaluar los mismos contenidos y objetivos de aprendizaje
correspondiente a la prueba escrita ordinaria que se repone. La nota obtenida
sustituye la calificacin de la prueba escrita ordinaria.
Para justificar la ausencia a una prueba escrita, se considerar razones de fuerza
mayor lo estipulado en el Artculo 4, Inciso i), Reglamento General
Estudiantil:
Circunstancias o eventos especiales fuera de control para la asistencia a la
aplicacin de pruebas evaluativas: circunstancias o eventos fuera de control de la
administracin de la UNED o de los propios estudiantes. Estas situaciones son
deceso del padre, la madre, cnyuge o hijos, o incapacidades mdicas emitidas por
la CCSS. Tambin cualquiera otra actividad que impida a cada estudiante en forma
efectiva el desplazamiento o asistencia al lugar de aplicacin de la prueba, como por
ejemplo: inundaciones locales o regionales, deslizamientos de terreno, sismos y sus
posibles consecuencias y bloqueo de carreteras. Ausencias por representacin
institucional de parte de estudiantes designados en actividades de organizacin
acadmicas, deportivas y culturales.

Tareas individuales
Las tareas son una serie de ejercicios comprensivos de los diferentes temas
estudiados. Son un total de 2 y se encuentran incluidas en este folleto
(orientaciones acadmicas). Para llevar a cabo los ejercicios, el estudiante debe
estudiar la teora primero.
Algunas consideraciones sobre las tareas son:

Las tareas no sern aceptadas en la tutora. Debe presentarlas al Centro

Universitario ms cercano para obtener comprobante de entrega de la misma.
El estudiante puede presentar las tareas al fotocopiarlas de las orientaciones (al
hacerlo por favor procure agrandar el tamao a formato carta) o
transcribindolas en su totalidad. Igualmente puede descargar las orientaciones
en formato PDF desde la web en el sitio:

Se puede responder a mano con lapicero azul o negro o por medio de
computadora. No fotocopiar las respuestas.
No se calificarn slo las respuestas de las tareas: debe incluir ejercicio y
encabezados.
Las tareas deben ser completadas nicamente en INGLES.
Evite incluir las tareas en sobres de manila, folders o con empaste.
No es necesario adjuntar portada, ni introduccin o conclusin.

Tareas despus de la fecha establecida no sern aceptadas.

Las fechas de entrega de las tareas sern las siguientes:
Tarea N1: la entrega de la primera tarea de Semana A es desde 17 de febrero,
hasta 21 de febrero a las 4pm inclusive.
Tarea N2: la entrega de la segunda tarea de Semana A es desde 7 de abril, hasta
10 de abril las 4pm inclusive. El sbado 11 de abril los centros universitarios
