Why use PKS Material to Make Biomass Pellets?

The main palm nut producing areas are Indonesia, Malaysia and other
tropical countries. Palm kernel shells (or PKS) are the shell fractions left
after the kernel has been removed after crushing in the Palm Oil mill.
When made into PKS pellets, they can be a reliable biofuel resource with
a lot of advantages:
High calorific value: The calorific value of palm kernel shell can reach
4600 kilocalorie per kilogram. Besides, palm kernel shells contain
residues of Palm Oil, which accounts for its slightly higher heating value
than average lignocellulosic biomass.
Environment Friendly: PKS material contains no sulfur and
phosphorus, thus no sulfur dioxide and phosphorus pentoxide created
when burning; and it is totally zero air & environment pollution.
Low moisture and ash content: The moisture content is less than 8.4%,
while ash content is less than 3%. The combustion is sufficient, more
suitable for large boiler.

for easy pelletizing)
