Trans Basic Operation:

The 45RFE is a RWD 4-speed unit. Pressure
rise, TCC, and shift timing for all gears is completely electronically controlled.
The 45RFE is actually capable of producing 5
forward speeds, with the 5th speed known as
2nd prime. This ratio is only used during a
high speed kickdown as the ratio is designed
for better acceleration.

Pin 2

Hold Drum
The Line Pressure Sensor (transducer) is used
to convert a fluid pressure value into an electrical signal for use by the computer. The computer will control pressure by altering command to the pressure solenoid and monitor the
actual pressure sensed by the transducer.
The transducer is mounted on the left rear of
the unit and is also the location used to test
pressure using a special adapter.
